I'm inclined to think that with the addition of a supertall in La Defence, Paris would take this quite comfortably - she's a beauty from every angle but is a little flat - Moscow has the opposite problem, the height is excellent but looks isolated but still hugely impressive.

I think that with some more work Moscow and Paris could take this but in terms of the best two at this moment in time I give a tie between London and Frankfurt.

I'm sorry but Warsaw comes in the tier below at the moment.

london population has been sharply booming since a few decades ago and it is expected to grow with a significant rate and i bet many residential towers (150m+) will be popping up like mushrooms in coming years. Thanks for the population boom.

I think so, Paris could use some supertalls, at least 2 or 3, but not taller than 320-350m. It should not be more dominant than Eiffel Tower. For me, the list goes like
1. London
2. Moscow
3. Paris
5. Istanbul
and then Frankfurt and then Warsaw.
I also think that The Shard in London should be taller, they should have made it at least 400m tall because of its shape, it looks thin when compared to the other buildings in london and London could use some 400+m tall skyscraper, I liked the vision of future London in Mass Effect and The Shard looks exactly like those spaceports there And Moscow, when it will be completed, it will draw with London on the first place.

By the way, when I took my mother who hates all of the modern architecture, skyscrapers and steel-concrete-glass buildings to Paris, I insisted on going to La Défense. She did not want to go and was really strongly against it, but when we arrived there, she was so amazed, she did not want to go anywhere else.

Central paris is:-
La Défense 2.5 km (2 MILES) west of the city 'PROPER' is a key 'SUBURB' of Paris and one of the largest business centres in the world. Built at the western end of a westward extension of Paris' historical axis from the Champs-Élysées, La Défense consists mainly of business high-rises. Initiated by the French government in 1958. Errrr...NOT central Paris.

La Défense is dead after 6pm.

Any more questions?

its not about the nicest places in europe its just about a skyline.

who cares if paris/ld is like a desert after 6pm? its more or less just about the silhouette and that's it.

if we had the criteria "most beautiful towns in europe" none of the here already promoted cities would appear in a ranking, instead we would see pictures of zürich, salzburg, munich, innsbruck, reykjavik and a lot of other european gems.

Fixed.

Plus when you see it :

there is no denying that La Défense is a part of Paris, even if it's only the urban area. La Défense is in Paris. Stay pressed.
