London you don't know what good food is before french came in your country to learn how to cook well.

The fact is Paris has more Michelin restaurants starred!

I was in london and i don't see a sign of decent english food.

When i go in London i eat croissants at breakfast when i see brits eat beans with milk & coffee
We don't have a single lesson to learn when come the question of food!

France is the best food country from the breakfast to the dessert! We are OK with that!
I love london but there's rubbish food there full of sugar and cholesterol
I travel many countries in Europe all year long and I can tell you that Italian food is probably one of the best in terms of diversity and healthiness but definitely much better than the French one without the need of going in gastronomic restaurants. My preferred breakfasts are the british ones. I just love their full English breakfast (porridge included)!
France does not even have a single restaurant in the top ten best world's restaurants while Spain (often underrated) has 3...

Paris anyway is surely one of the most beautiful cities in the whole world!

Another off topic : Excuse me, but your "list" of "best restaurant" is just pure bullshit...
Food is something too subjective to be ranking...

If you really want to know who make good cuisine, just check this :
http://www.oecd-ilibrary.org/sites/f...ok-2011-109-en

And saying you need to go in a gastronomic restaurant to enjoy french cuisine is another great clichés...
Just try the bouchons in Lyon, cręperies in Britanny etc...
Anyway, i'm also a huge fan of Italian cuisine...

mmm... A normal citadis tram is 30 or 40 meters long... I think those tram you are talking about are citadis dualis who are not tram but tram-train.

A lot of bus run on natural gas in France and are very quiet, trams can increase circulation congestion because you have to make "level crossing" ( these kind of things : http://static.ladepeche.fr/content/m...1105161280.jpg ) at intersection and stop cars, it's not the case of a simple bus.
The city where I live created a new tram system, and there are already some colisions reported, many of them were fatal...
And don't forget that some street are not large enough to make tram lane, especially old streets, a bus can go everywhere.

But to be honnest, I don't think capacity is a current problem in Paris, the true problem is that many suburbs are not connected at all to the metro system.
Anyway, a lot of tram lines are planing in Paris, so I think you will be happy in the next few years !
You are basing your argument on minor problems that are not problems at all.
When you are stupid enough to not pay attention in traffic school, you deserve to have an accident. It is natural selection and in the end it is great for society to get rid of the stupidest ones this way. Trams are in many cities and none has problems with it. As for the accidents, there is the last one argument and that is that the buses have accidents too.

As for slowing down the traffic, you build the trams on the widest and most exposed areas or in the least used streets by cars near to the streets that can't be covered with a tram because of the wideness, resp. narrowness. All of your boulevards are wide enough for tram and instead they are filled with cars... One traffic expert, and i think he was even french, said that when there is a tr. jam in the city, he would take away some lanes and make them a bus lanes instead of adding more lanes. And it is true, it works. And for level crossing, it is not a problem, do you know one of these: http://www.mestskadoprava.eu/storage...ignal/0004.jpg In vienna, prague, bratislava and other cities that use trams have lights specially designed for trams. If they are well-designed, the slowing down is not a problem and in the end the tram is faster than any bus. I am living in the part of city that is reachable only by bus(or a car) and to go to the center I need to go to the traffic hub that combines the tram, bus, trains and a meto. It is next to a significant junction and often I wait 5 minutes in bus in a jam watching trams that go through the junction on first try there. Also, when you have a level crossing in a minor junction, there is a way of connecting the lights with the tram so when the tram is approaching, it turns red otherwise it is green the most of the time. So no slowing down of traffic at all. Prague, vienna, budapest... all have a massive pedestrian zone in the center and trams in the center and there is no problem with accidents, crossings and the rest.

Yes, bus can go everywhere. That is why many buses are feeding the tram system. You go like bus <-> tram <-> metro <-> train. Actually, i am repeating myself by writing this all over and over.

Parisians know that more tramway lines would be better for the city in addition of the metro, people like using it and it's definately an efficient manner of transport. And indeed there is too many cars in the city center and to make the cars pay to access to some areas like in London could make sense.. Those for who it's obvious maybe just don't want to post
PS: The Praha bashing is ashaming
Thank you for your opinion. I was about to reply to the guy that said that there are no trams in london that they are more efficient way to get rid of the traffic jams and that is the city car tax and fees connected with the entry to the city with a car, but this is discussion about paris and not london so I let it be. However, that is also an efficient way to make people to use public tranport, not only adding a tram line, however, it could use a tram that would take some passengers of metro, but they have the double-decked buses that are more used I think. I don't know why, but those buses seemed more full to me than in paris, but maybe just because they are more known and are one of the things that make the "image" of the city and buses in paris are an ordinary public transport buses and paris is best known for its metro which ads to its burden more passengers.

London's cost of living is slightly more expensive than Paris's so I don't really understand what prevents you from going back there dude...
