Food is something too subjective to be ranking...

If you really want to know who make good cuisine, just check this :
http://www.oecd-ilibrary.org/sites/f...ok-2011-109-en

And saying you need to go in a gastronomic restaurant to enjoy french cuisine is another great clichés...
Just try the bouchons in Lyon, crêperies in Britanny etc...
Anyway, i'm also a huge fan of Italian cuisine...
Well, it is actually not my list (read the manifesto to learn more). I agree with you when saying that that food is too subjective to be ranked. However in that case you should tell it to Axelferris who states that the French cuisine is the best but of course you might not react the same way with him as you did with me maybe because his French...

In my opinion the major cliché here is that the French often think they have the best cuisine, the best wines etc. among other things but in fact when you travel the way I do in France among other European countries is that the French cuisine is actually quite disappointing and nothing special when eating everyday's lunch menu. I also travel a lot in Italy and I must admit that it is quite difficult to find bad restaurants. I am sorry but I went a few times in Lyon in the "Bouchons" and I was again disappointed with their menu besides the fact that they even ripped me off one day and the crêpes are just good for my kids but I would not call it "high gastronomy". If you can suggest me a nice "Bouchon" I will be happy to try it next time I will be in Lyon.

Again, Paris is a fantastic city and France has many other beautiful cities as well that I really enjoy visiting and don't get me wrong I like your country too!

Errm you obviously missed the point. Why do you guys have to keep comparing Paris with London especially when my post wasn't referring to that at all. It's just annoying. My point is I live in London so I know where to get the best deals, what to avoid in terms of price and I don't need to constantly go to the tourist areas. When I visit Paris I like to go to the nice areas (could even say Touristy areas) and it is really rather expensive especially when compared to other European cities I have visited. If anything i was comparing Paris to other European cities, it doesn't make sense for me to compare it to London as that is where i live. It doesn't mean i wouldn't visit again (i will definitely go back, Paris is beautiful), i just wish it wasn't as expensive. I hope this has cleared things up for you.

Don't worry, I was not agree with axelferris. He was obviously trolling.
Like a lot of peoples here, I'm piss off with all those dick contests, but don't forget that british are also very good at this game !

For the restaurants, i don't know, maybe you was not lucky !
Next time, just try with a michelin guide and avoid tourist trap like montmartre for example...
You have the right to not enjoy French cuisine, but you have to admit that's it's a diverse cuisine, because France have a lot of different region, just look all the cheese, wine, meat, dessert that this country product !
But Spain, Italy and some others asian countries also have this diversity ! For me French cuisine is not the best in the world !

Like i said in my previous post, for me, there is a correlation between food quality and obesity, Japan Italy and France are the OECD countries with the lowest obesity rate, for me, it's not a coincidence !
And no offense but i think you are a bit snob with crêperies, yes it's not high gastronomy, so what ? It's part of the britanny cultural heritage and it deserve respect.
Pizzeria are not high gastronomy too, but who cares when it's good...

France does not even have a single restaurant in the top ten best world's restaurants while Spain (often underrated) has 3...

Paris anyway is surely one of the most beautiful cities in the whole world!
I travel countries too and trust me food in France still the best!

-Spain or Italy don't know how to make good croissants!
In France from breakfast to dinner we have a very good variety of meal!

Our patisseries are well known to be the best in the world (ask americans)
Croissants, pains au chocolat, crêpes, pains au raisin, beignet aux pommes, brittany butter speciality
-Royal dynasties often have french chief!

Lyon is the capital of gastronomy with chief like Alain Ducasse

In spain i tried breakfast for example which were awful! No comparison with what we have the chance to eat here.

Salt food was the same: i was in Fuerteventura isla canarias-> the food was full of bad grass

I like itlian food which is excellent but french one is more diversified.
England has no tradition of food & cooking. Only Their Tv chief Ramasay makes the buzz .

Trust me if i have one country to choose in Europe it will be France .

Paris skyline represent this harmony close to urban perfection.
Paris has no equivalent in the World.

Hausmanian style has spread the world. Paris is copied but Paris don't copy anyone
