There's also this little thing called a matter of taste, and in all subjectiveness no one can claim the actual 'truth'. I'm looking forward to Moscows skyline in 10-15 years time, but right now, in the middle of the whole project of having an actual skyline, I think it's butt-ugly, or at least not worth a mention. Supertalls don't get many points in my book, for being just that. For me it's the aesthetics and harmony of a skyline that counts, not the number of buildings alone, not the combined meters or the area by km2. But hey, that's just one mans opinion, and there are actually people out there who thinks Dubai and Abu Dhabi are pretty, and well planned skylines.

you see a very different picture. I see a beautiful cozy town Ekaterinburg. it started not so long ago, so deprived of a large Number of classical buildings. in structure it is similar to an American city, but the high-rise buildings distributed throughout the city, so it has a very beautiful skyline from a distance. thanks to built-up the city is not like other Russian. Perhaps you are confused by a large Number of residential buildings? Then take a closer look to the New York, Chicago, Shanghai, Hong Kongui many other best skyline of the world, most of them are lackluster (and sometimes ugly) apartment building. the only thing that really spoils Yekaterinburg is sticking around pipes Soviet factories and abandoned TV tower construction, as an abundance of ugly Soviet buildings
I understand you, sometimes irritated because people think differently you, but that is no reason so insulting to write about it (this may offend people with whom you disagree.) In any case, your comments look pretty provocatively

I didn't want to insult or provocate anybody, I swear I just wanted to say that I am very susprised this time. I know that usually forumers are supporting skylines of their own country, but usually I see something good in each skyline posted here, in the case of Ekaterinburg it is the first time I can see really nothing, a skyline under the European avarage, kinda out of place in this thread (nothing to compare with New York for sure ). But please don't feel offended, it is just my opinion and my feeling. You can go on promoting Ekaterinburg of course, I will try to not comment about it anymore, I promise

And always pointing out, that opinions differ, is such a lame thought-terminating cliché... Yekaterinburg is obviously not pretty and not European looking and it's skyline is massive, but looks cheap and not very high and is certainly not one of the best in Europe (or Asia for that matter).

how to talk to a man who compares the historic street and aircraft photos?
I'm not going to prove anything to you because it is meaningless. In any case, I stand by my opinion

Except the recent shard, does london have a supertall in the city or canary wharf??

But london skyline is good without super skyscrapper (before shard)

The quality of skyline is a question of balance & rythm. does rotterdam has a supertall? no but it has a good rythm without high design quality for highrises.

Fixed that for you, lol.

Sorry, Yellow Fever... I think, no one should spread such obvious nonsense here.
