Wow that Istanbul picture! Skyline is getting serious, a little more "depth" and it's awesome...

Is Astana city in Europe or Asia? People in Astana look like European.
World's amazing!

That's the thing. Competing against Euro skylines is no accomplishment (and Istanbul's skyline is not better than London or Paris), so all this discussion is utterly pointless.

Question! Beside New York do European skylines now compare with the US?

Besides few exceptions (London, Paris, Frankfurt, Moscow), they would not compare with even 2nd tier US cities. Those 4 euro cities can be compared with 2nd tier US cities, but not with NYC, Chicago, etc.

Chicago, Miami, San Francisco, Houston, etc are still much more impressive than Europes skylines (sans maybe Moscow).

Because skyscrapers is an American invention , Europeans are more into medieval cottages and old monarchy styled architecture in addition to that many European cities have banned skyscrapers from certain locations , that include London, Paris, Moscow, St petersburg , and skyscrapers is not a difficult thing to do , you do find many Asian cities with impressive skyscrapers yet the infrastructure is poor I mean there are areas in Dubai without a proper sewage system and that applies to the rest of Asia including China as opposed to Europe that has advanced infrastructure

PS
Chicago has 6 supertalls and Moscow has 5 supertalls and one proposed !

Agree with this big time..

American cities have the skyline but jeez the fall into wasteland and carlots and nothingness is shocking ...

European cities have a little bit of a skyline but jeez .. they are imbued with a richness in history re architecture and the very big European cities in this respect are just beyond compare.....

What's your problem?

He's proud of Singapore (and asian cities) because it has built more skyscrapers than European cities (I mean has copied americain style more than Europe) ...

But, European cities still are (and will stay) the best unrivalled cities in the world
