Yes I do. Mainly because of the skyscrapers' innovative shape such as De Rotterdam.

I guess it is a "love or hate" thing. I personally find it very incomplete and soulless. It might look better in a few years though.

It depends on the point of view, literally. Some angles of the look of De Rotterdam is a challenge to the gravity. Other point that call me attention is that seems the blocks slide on each other. Very creative!

I don't like it too. It's not that bad, but I can't consider it as being one of the best in Europe. It looks too monotonous and melancholically for my taste. But that doesn't mean it's bad I know lots of people that like it just the way it is.

Are there any plans, to maybe overbuild/redesign that huge area around that communist tower and reduce the width of that inner city highways?
There are plenty of plans and they are being constantly refined and discussed. The problem with that area is not with the lack of plans or even funds. The problem is the ownership of the area. These entire huge quarter is divided into hundreds of tiny parcels. Some of these parcels have claimants, in many cases the heirs are either unknown or under dispute. It's an utter legal mess and one of 'gifts' that the communist regime left to this country. The commies simply took over the area and modeled it according to their wishes without bothering about laws and property. Democratic Poland is left with it to deal and it does not seem that a resolution within the next few years are possible. It's a poisonous area and potential investors stay away from it.

Thanks. The correct name in dutch is "De Rotterdam". Users FMTuc and Uplander have typed "The Rotterdam" before my post in the thread “2013 Cup: best skyscraper of year”. That was the reason of the confusion.

One tall building is not a skyline shot. Sorry!

yes of course, way more then istanbuls skyline, and if we take other criterias into account (like infrastructure, cleanliness, social developement, etc.) then it beats istanbul overall - at least for me.

of course this is just my own preference

I understand. My question wasn't "Let's compare 8000 years old Istanbul with Rotterdam" but thank you very much for your opinion.
