Rotterdam and Canary Wharf are great as well.

Regarding Toronto, you should take a closer look. It's 4 km from the lake to Yorkville and highrise buildings the whole length; that's equivalent to having high rises from the City of London to Canary Wharf. Then there are other clusters many kilometres further out.

Boxes? I assume you're referring to the Mies van der Rohe and IM Pei bank towers. They are considered classics in architectural circles. Btw, southern Ontario is mostly farm land and you have to travel through 30 km of city before you hit it.
With all due respects European cities lead the way in most things...

Most things if not all in the new world hail from the old.. Lets just get that right .. ok ?

As for Toronto ? Well you adore it .. I can tell .

My opinion is it looks impressive in photos but compared with big european cities it suffers badly.

As London on the other hand is catching up with Frankfurt (London would already have overtaken Frankfurt for me if there wouldn't be so much construction going on either), it's consequently catching up with both.

Warsaw surpassed Rotterdam again for me about a year ago (after Rotterdam has been better for some half a dozen of years due to the kind of slow development in Warsaw back then). The 2 currently U/C towers there seem to turnout quite well

It would be interesting to compare the number of skyscrapers over 150 m in London, Paris, Frankfurt and Warsaw (we will leave Moscow aside as it will beat every other city in Europe combined).

London, I have counted 12 built building using this web-site:http://skyscraperpage.com/diagrams/?cityID=807

Plus 3 under constructions, actially almost finished.

Paris: 11, plus 3 under construction as well.

Frankfurt: 11, plus 2 under construction.

Warsaw: 4 build and 3 under construction.

Istanbul: 9 built. Not sure how many under construction.

Rotterdam: just 2 built and no higher 150 m under construction.

So not sure who is catching whom.

SkyscraperPage is not very credible because the list has too many gaps. I would recommend Emporis, CTBUH, Wikipedia.

By the way, at SkyscraperPage twin towers are sometimes listed as a building, the "Deutsche Bank Türme" but are two towers.
Frankfurt therefore has 12 completed skyscrapers.

Here is the Wikipedia lists ...

Moscow=

London=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...United_Kingdom

Frankfurt=http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_d...in_Deutschland

Warsaw=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...ings_in_Warsaw

Oxford Street is not a skyscraper. The roof height is only 140m

Thanks for links but I wouldn't call Wikipedia more credible source especially considering height of the buildings. May be Emporis.

Thanks for list but it's also not complete: 2 on hold buildings are missing in London, plus number of residential towers above 30 floors under construction such as Providence Tower or Manhattan Loft Gardens
