(obviously not the best in Europe, but I think it belongs to EuroTier#3 skylines)

Ekaterinburg

"Высоцкий". Высотка, поменявшая навсегда облик этого мегаполиса

В эту сторону очень захватывающий вид открывается. Далее панорамы

и полный охват в сторону севера

Ekaterinburg skyline developed a truly stunning. For me one of the most aspiring metropolises after moscow in eastern europe.

Ekaterinburg is kind of impressive but didn't we learn that it's located on the eastern foothills of the Urals (= Asia)?

Not again Ekaterinburg... Why not add Novosibirsk or even Vladivostok as well?
They neither are among the best skylines nor are they located in Europe...

"border between Europe and Asia" in the Urals is formality.
Both sides of the Urals are populated by the same European people. Prevailing Siberian connections - with western part of Russia.

Novosibirsk was in this thread already. Vladivostok photos I'll post here when its skyscrapers will be finished.

You are obviously trolling, when you start posting Vladivostok (which is clearly Asian) pics in here. I'll report those posts.

Aren't there European people in the Americas as well? Let's also post NY & Chicago here! Or what about Pretoria (South Africa), which has a European majority as well!
Oh, and let's not forget Australia, which has some seriously awesome skylines!

I think my Top 10 is going to change completely

It's funny how some people (the same names keep popping up) keep bringing the subject 'Ekaterinburg - European or not' up in this thread.

Ekaterinburg belongs in this European thread! This has been debated and decided a long time ago by SSC mods and users, so stop this endless and boring discussion ...it ends now!

...and on a brighter note: Thank you all for sharing all these stunning European skyline photos

I also supported the idea of including Ekaterinburg in here back then, as did Yellow Fever, because we simply believed the forumers who claimed that it was located exactly at the border of Europe and Asia. However, as the discussion continued, I took a look myself and realized that it is actually located a few km away, on the eastern side of it.

http://wikitravel.org/en/Yekaterinburg:
Quote:
The city is often said to be situated on the border of Europe and Asia (on the Asian side) and (at least) three symbolic monuments of this can be found near the city.
3 maps that show it clearly:
http://www.mytripolog.com/2012/07/la...ap-large-size/
http://www.whererussia.com/mall2/whe...peanRussia.gif
http://www.mytripolog.com/2012/07/la...ortant-cities/

Not that it was much, but as a definite fact the city is located outside of Europe. We also wouldn't want the Asian side of istanbul to be posted here or the European side of it in the Asian thread. Panama City is an example for North/South America. Seriously, let's finally drop this now.

This has been debatet and decided by SSC mods and users, but you just keep bringing it up...as you said yourself: Seriously, let's finally drop this now. If you don't like the photos of Ekaterinburg in this thread, then don't look at them

When, where? I can only remember that Yellow Fever said it was ok, but he based this decision on wrong facts, as stated in my last post (like me too back then).

That's not true, when have I brought this up before?

It's not in Europe and that's it
