3 photos would have been sufficient. Another promising thread gets spammed to death.

^ I thought I can't see the city through the smog, so I assumed it's London... Then I scrolled.

Tokyo. I can't get enough of the place. Its the essence of modernity yet keeps an absolutely unique personality.

Second would be Osaka, then HK.

I think it all depends on what one is talking about, If you mean beauty so far as natural beauty I would give it two these cities: Rio, Vancouver, Vitoria Brazil. If yur talking any thing else you would have to specify please.

NYC isn't modern. It's 400 years old.

Like many other cities in this list must be that age or be older.

What defines a "modern city" to me is not only its beautiful buildings or foundation year, but their culture, education of the people and its infrastructure according to their time as they can offer quality of life for its population.

Milton Keynes NO. It's infamous in Blighty as the Land of dated 70s Dystopia and carcentric US style sprawl. Perennial favourite of the kiss of death to all urbanity - the national Britain in Bloom competition, and Crap Towns.

I also wonder how anyone could confuse NYC with a modern city. What could possibly give someone such a crazy thought? It's got no skyscrapers or big bridges or any kind of modern infrastructure to speak of. Not to mention it's over a thousand years old, with new ruins found all the time.
