Oh No. They haven't even started on the mall and the park, but they have
announced Dubai Hills within MBR city and asking investors to put money on villas with golf courses nearby

Quote from Gulfnews below:

"Emaar Properties and Dubai Holding have launched Dubai Hills, a gated golf-course community, which will be the first project in the recently announced Mohammad Bin Rashid (MBR) City, the developers said yesterday in a joint statement.

The development, located between Emirates Road and Al Khail Road, will feature luxury villas overlooking an 18-hole championship golf course, they said. The villas will be allocated plots of 20,000 to 30,000 square feet each".

If people wanted villas with golf courses nearby, finished villas with already built golf courses are available in Dubai Sports City at Victory heights. Why should somebody buy off-plan. If people buy off-plan now, the lucky ones may get a villa in the middle of the desert with nothing around (Think world islands) and the unlucky ones won't even get their villa.

I think the ruler is going crazy, and to think that people will buy into it AGAIN.
Does he think people are fools? (May be once, but not twice)

Sobha will also expand its business to include a three-star hotel management company called Strada. The subsidiary has identified land in Mohammed Bin Rashid City for its first property, a 250-room hotel.

The mammoth project announced in November by Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum includes the world's biggest shopping mall, more than 100 hotels, a Universal Studios franchise and a public park larger than Hyde Park.

It is to be developed by Dubai Holding, also owned by Dubai, and Emaar Properties.

Who cares. It's good to have ambitions.

Off course they are not going to make it in 10 years, but I appreciate their imagination.

Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City - District One launches cycling and running track

Quote:

Meydan Sobha, the developer of the Dh35 billion Mohammed Bin Al Maktoum Rashid City - District One, has announced the opening of the ‘District One Cycling & Running Track’ which now welcomes all cyclists, joggers and fitness enthusiasts from across the country.

The opening of the District One Cycling and Running Track is another successful milestone which is part of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai's, vision for Dubai and the developers’ desire to provide a world-class amenity for the community.

The official opening was marked by over 50 cyclists and joggers testing the track for the very first time.

The 8.4 kilometre cycling and running track runs the entire periphery of the stunning Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City – District One situated just four kilometres from the Burj Khalifa.

The track is illuminated by solar powered lights to ensure good visibility when cycling or running at night and uses minimal energy consumption making this an environmentally friendly and safe atmosphere for everyone.

The new District One running track is four metres wide and has a specialised running surface making sure the balance is just right for all keen joggers.

The cycling track is just over six metres wide and includes several break areas with parking facility for cyclists to rest and enjoy the surroundings.

Both tracks are surrounded by beautiful trees and shrubs to ensure a tranquil environment in the heart of the city.

Saeed Humaid Al Tayer, Chairman and CEO of Meydan Group said: “The launch of the District One Cycling & Running track is a significant milestone for Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City - District One and we are incredibly proud of the progress we have made so far. The launch is testament to our support of the local community and commitment to promoting an active and healthy lifestyle.”

Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City - District One will offer a range of other phenomenal features and activities including parks, man-made beaches and the stunning seven kilometer stretch of Crystal Lagoons offering a true beachside and active lifestyle.

The careful planning of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City - District One makes it one of the lowest density residential developments in the world with over 65 per cent dedicated to open and green spaces, making this a truly unique destination in the Dubai property market.

Launched by Meydan Sobha, an equally owned joint venture between Meydan Group LLC and Sobha Developers Ltd, Phase 1 of the project will be ready for handover in mid-2016.
