The structure looks just rectangular, not like what's in the renders...?

Nope, the base (or current floor slabs) are NOT rectangular in shape but they are more like right angled trapezium.
Most of the pics are taken from pandurang budhkar marg that is why it looks like a boxy structure.

Here you can see the other part of the structure.

But a render does exist for this(albeit a shoddy one), or am I missing something here?

Great to see a commercial super-tall in Mumbai. A true sign of economic vibrancy.

This is a nice original design with it's shape and cladding.

Cool, so many supertalls on the rise. I guess it's fitting for a country with over 1.2 billion people like India, but it's strange how it's just totally ignored outside Mumbai.

The supertall phenomenon is a relatively recent one in India, and it will catch up with other urban areas as well.
It's only natural that the phenomenon started in Mumbai, the country's financial capital and also the country's most land-starved urban area!

The next in line is the Delhi NCR:
1. Spira (Supertech Supernova project) in the Delhi NCR is already U/C.
2. Brys Buzz, another supertall, has been approved in the Delhi NCR.
3. Wave City Centre Iconic Tower is another approved supertall in the Delhi NCR.
4. Sikka Dream Heights is yet another approved supertall.

Major urban areas with approved supertalls (other than Mumbai and Delhi NCR):-

Bangalore:
There are 4 approved supertalls in the Bangalore metropolis: Turf Tower, Wearesf Tower, Asta Vibrant Towers and KRTE AFRD Tower.

Hyderabad:

There are 2 approved supertalls in the Hyderabad metropolis: Lanco Hills Signature Tower and APIIC Tower.

Ahmedabad - Gandhinagar:

There are 3 approved supertalls in the Ahmedabad - Gandhinagar metropolis: GIFT Diamond Tower, Gateway Towers 1 & 2.
