Street's Trimble City
Hello, I've been using sketchup for at least a year now, and I'd thought I'd show you my city, which is my first city fully created by me. (apart from the airport) and I know it's no where near as good as some of the other cities/buildings people have made, but this is a start.
![]() It is constantly a W.I.P, and currently going over the details See if you can spot some buildings based on real ones :P What do you guys think? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I know I need to move the port some where, but I'm not sure where to. Any advice you guys can give me? Style? Density? Layout? Thank you for viewing

Awesome work! But need some textures or details on buildings.

SketchUp provides all you need, as long as you don't want to do crazy badass-curves and so

Nice
I love the density, looks very real. Try to render it If you can’t render, make a 2D Graphic by going to File -> Export -> 2D Graphic. I will have better resolution

Thanks guys! I was heading towards a Manhattan style, lots of older designs mixed with new, modern ones.
I'm not sure how to render it, but here's three 2D graphic shots. ![]() ![]()

Renders
Use iRender nXt. Oh, and some real metal textures would be nice. Plus, you could render with shadows on SketchUp. But really nice-looking, overall.
Have a look at my city - I focused on detail and variation rather than style, and I've only been modelling for ten months : http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showth...9#post98749929 |

why do you recommend to use an expensive sotware if there is freeware available that can do absolutely the same?

You mean Kerkythea? I don't know, you have a point...however, these are just one-click renderers, and they load directly into SketchUp, but...yeah, Kerkythea is better, overall.

I've said before that I am trying to use Kerkythea, I just need to know how to use it first, reading the site's forums and all that.
I've only just gone into detail (for me anyway, haha) so I don't want to download everything at once which would make me very confused haha :P |

Yeah...
BTW, what would make your work look more realistic is textures and/or smaller pieces, such as piping and antennae. Keep up the good work, though!
