I'm working towards becoming an architect, but I'm not there yet. Some of the pictures comes from a large folder I have on my pc called "architectural inspiration" with thousands of pictures of different architectural works, but most have just been found by searching for architects name through Google.

I would not consider myself to be an expert, but I surely do have a huge interest for the field (hence why I'm on this site in the first place).

The winning design in the 1918 architectural competition on how to develop Torgallmenningen in Bergen, Norway after the area was struck by a city-wide fire. The proposal was made by Nils W. Grimnes og Egil Haanshus. Neither the city nor the landlords liked it so project of designed the place was instead given to Finn Berner who come up with what stands there today: https://www.google.no/maps/@60.39283...8i6656!6m1!1e1

Poelzig was a genius! It's like a terrace building from Babylon, magical.
Should be built somewhere, someday.

The original design for the United States National Museum Building in Washington by architects Joseph C. Hornblower and James R. Marshall.

http://siris-sihistory.si.edu/ipac20...nu=search&ri=1

The design had to be re-designed by architects Charles F. McKim and Daniel Burnham as it was thought that initial style did not fit with the classical style of the city. What got built:
