Do you remember pre-war Basilica of Divine Providence. First, in 18th c. it was an idea of a church of Divine Providence as a homage for 3rd May Constitution in 1791. Unrealized as Poland disappeared from the maps of the world.

Jan Christian Kamsetzer's design. Much smaller than pre-war ones

Honeyman & Keppie's 1915 proposals for realignment of Glasgow Cross and reconfiguration of the Tolbooth Steeple, sans Tolbooth...

this first scheme shows the 17th c. Tolbooth demolished (leaving the steeple in place) and replaced with a convex rather than concave corner treatment which was joined to the steeple with an heraldic gate/arch. the scheme also incorporates the Mercat Cross which is joined to the base of the Tolboth Steeple, the current Mercat Cross in front of the Mercat Building is a 1929 design by Edith Hughes, the original having been removed in 1659.

this scheme is related to the one above, the notable difference being that the Steeple has been moved to the current site of the Mercat Cross and raised on a pedestal, again a reproduction Mercat Cross is joined to its base. Note also the design for the site of the later Mercat Building is similar to that of the Tolbooth site. Again the Tolbooth has been replaced with a convex corner matched on the eastern flank of High St.

An unknown* architect proposed this massive extension to the Hungarian Royal Palace in the early 1870s.
