Leonardo Da Vinci's surprisingly modern-looking 1502/1503 proposal to Sultan Bayezid II for the 220 meter Golden Horn Bridge in Istanbul. Michelangelo was also invited to send a proposal, but turned it down.

Proposal from 1918 for a skyscraper in the centre of Barcelona, Spain. It would be 30 floors and 130m (426ft), making it the tallest building in Europe at that time. Design by John Mead Howells & James Gamble Rogers.

That Liverpool cathedral is what I imagine a modern byzantine cathedral built during the industrial age would have looked
