It would look amazing in Barcelona, but it looks like a dream of an artist, not the work of an architect, mainly to the USA. Too many empty floors = too much money for no economic return.

Well in Barcelona we are making lot of money with some Gaudi's empty houses

But, yep, I agree with you that it won't fit on EEUU.

Another not done in spain. The monument to Columbus in Madrid:

And some info... But in Spanish -> ( http://tejiendoelmundo.wordpress.com...ca-vio-la-luz/ )

The Place de France was an urbanistic project of the king Henry IV in 1610, envisaged in the Marais district in Paris.
This square was to be semicircular. It was to be installed against the wall of Paris, a new door would have opened.
It would have been the point of convergence of eight streets, bearing quite names of the main French provinces: Picardy, Dauphiné, Provence, Languedoc, Guyenne, Poitou, Brittany and Burgundy.
Those streets would have ended in this square, by seven identical detached houses.
The murder of the king Henry IV (May 14th, 1610) interrupted the realization of this project.

Here are some I found:

London's Eiffel Tower

Washington Monument Proposal

Conversion of Tower Bridge in London (1943)

Elephant instead of Arc de Triomphe (1758)

91m tall pyramid for London's Trafalgar Square (1815)

Some of these show that even 100 years ago, architects had bad ideas.

I like Wrights plan for Baghdad. Traditional, modern and tasteful.

Hopefully, they didn't did it, it would only have been seen as a bad copy, and a lack of self creativity.
