Great pictures! I was at Grand Lake two days ago with some friends. Watched the sunset from the lake. Beautiful city and gets way too much bad press. BTW what's #67? Didn't know a building like that was in Oakland.

I recognise your talent as a photographer. You managed to capture the essence of the city and especially its people, not only the buildings. Some very unusual shots by the way. That picture inside the bikers club is a gem.

Here I go... Representing the North Bay.
Yes, I love the quirkiness of Oakland, despite its sketchy nature... I mean, East Oakland is a place I'd rather pass through rather than stop by (unless I want to find trouble, if you know what I mean!). But, I really like Oakland because it is a more mellow version of San Francisco, a city where it isn't that too crowded and doing pretty well. I especially love the Lake Merritt and Downtown areas a lot... Yet I still want to appreciate Grand Avenue, the Oakland Hills, Koreatown, and San Pablo Avenue much more. I still have to get to know Rockridge too, but hey, I might end up working in Downtown Oakland as an intern pretty soon... great pics too.Perhaps I could share some of my pics here, or I'll do it on my own album instead. I'll just note: Oakland Pics.

^Thanks for viewing!
Oakland's a big place that takes a while to become familiar with. It's a city of neighborhoods, and there's 120+ of those that are all different. |

Indeed. I wonder how many neighborhoods are there in East Oakland though... It's quite notorious.
