looks like we got

2 buildings completed
8 buildings U/C
7 buildings prep

now that's 17 already without any proposed supertalls and we know that tons are proposed and many likely to actually get built

Dubai is currently in the lead and may get up to 24 in the forseeable future.

so it is quite possible for Shenzhen to reach Dubai, but it will still take years, since all buildings first have to be completed and a few more need to come as well.

Wow they totally avoided the urban village. Good for them, there has to be a better way to fix those things up other than leveling the entire place.

Indeed Can't wait to see actual proposals. 163 floors is stunning, very easily 800m+.

z0rg, that's just a placeholder to demonstrate the height, not an actual design, right?

If that would be a real design 432 Park Avenue would have to hide it's head in sand from shame That's like hardcore version of ny tower

Even if it has 160+ floors, it may end up being less than 600m. But I am really hoping for some wicked height like 750-800m

No way this ends up at under 600m. I expect at least 750m

The render is mere concept, not actual design.

163 floors, probably a real design will also feature some sort of crown or spire i guess, even if a small one it will be above 800m easily! shenzhen must have heard the news of century plaza and sky city being both on prep

They did, but the entire village nearby is going to be erased from the map by another developer, and will be a much more significant project than this one

I doubt that a lot of people in the US keep tabs on what's happening in Asia so it might be possible to put forward a 1300 ft proposal there and be taken seriously.

Until the proposed buildings are actually finished then the perception that the US isn't significantly behind wil persist.
