EK should be getting closer to operating its 150th 777 in passenger and cargo versions.

I made a mistake, EK actually got three 777's in a day, I forgot to include the 777F.

Emirates receives four new widebody aircraft in a single day.

Emirates receives two Boeing 777-300ERs, a Boeing 777 Freighter and an Airbus A380 in a single day.

You didn't make a mistake, they did take delivery of 2 77Ws.

Together with the 777F the total is also 150 777s.

"Congratulations @Emirates on triple delivery of #Boeing 777s, marking your 150th 777!"

https://twitter.com/BoeingAirplanes/...45140243415040

It won't be too long before they will also operate 150 777s at the same time as the new 777s are coming in faster then the retirement of their early 777s.

I also think EK will use their 20 options to order around 10-15 777LR's, maybe who know a few more 777ER's, and 777F's.

The 777X will have a different layout of exits. You can see that in the following pictures:

Those are old images from more then a year ago, a much earlier stage in the design process.

The firm configuration has now been completed and in this final configuration the 777-9 only has 4 doors a side.

Noticing the 4-door configuration, it looks like the space between the first two doors are much wider on the 777X than the current 77W. Perhaps that is designed so that airlines can put in more premium seats (F and/or J) toward the front third of the plane, eh? That would mean the door for economy class for the 777X would be located much closer to the wing than the current design with the 77W.

Plus, why was the overwing exit discontinued on the 777X? Is that by design so that in case of an emergency, all exit doors, when opened, will produce emergency life rafts when landing in water?

The overwing exit's where removed from the design to save weight.

I've read that GE is actually reducing the engine thrust of the new GE9X engine compared to the GE90-115B on the new 777-9. Boeing said they can do this because the new wing has better lift characteristics, reducing the need for the 777-300ER's powerful engine.
