British Airways announce that they are conducting a retro cattle class fitout of their entire 777 fleet starting with the leisure flights ex Gatwick. They are cattling them to 10 abreast ( they decattled the same frames 10 years ago in Gatwick when they converted them to 9 abreast FROM 10 abreast)

Then they intend to cattleify the 777 fleet in LHR.

They also intend to squeeze 2 extra rows into their A320s

More here, it will be a horrific experience flying in these things.

That means their A320s will have the same number of seats as Easyjet. IMO, it's better for BA to differentiate itself from easyjet than to directly compete with them.

Follow me. China Southern was among the earliest operator of Boeing 777-200ER, aside of British Airways, Alitalia, and Saudia. The type was initially powered by GE90 only. But later some planes are also powered by Trent 800 as well.

They should get the 5 oldest EK 77Ws. But the exact retirement order does not necessarily be completely chronological in terms of age. That depends on exact dates of the end of the current leasing contracts and maybe also on maintenance schedules.

Is it just me or something seems a bit odd with this news article?

Boeing 777-10X and A350-2000? Have either of them even been confirmed by Boeing/Airbus? I know a while back Airbus was thinking about a longer A350 to compete with 777-9X so that might be A350-2000. Depending on whether Airbus will go with this Boeing will introduce 777-10X.

But here's the thing, the news article shows images of Boeing 777-9X and A350-1000 for the length/size comparioson

The streched versions are the outlines behind the images.

And yes they are not yet launched, but that doesn't mean that airlines are not talking about these stretched versions with Airbus and Boeing. After all, launches are usually only happen if there are already customers. It's going to be interesting to see which one they will choose and what influence it will have on the stretch that isn't chosen, will that one still go ahead? If all the airlines choose the A350-2000 there might not be a business case for the 777-10 anymore.

I don't quite get the business case that Singapore Airlines is putting forward.

Based from what I know, doesn't the A380 fit what they want (besides the fact that its four engines to two)?

Is it the range or efficiency that Singapore Airlines is after which the A380 can't offer?

This new Kuwait livery combines elegance and simplicity. I love it and the choice of colours also matches really well.

However, I think the letters "KUWAIT" are too big, especially compared to the Arabic writing just next to it

Come to think of it once Trump takes office in January I wouldn't be surprised if he just told the WTO to go screw themselves regarding the 777X ruling.

Trump doesn't have to anything as there will no be penalties for Boeing from this WTO ruling. It's just a reprimand. Since only nation states can come up with sanctions against Boeing, not the WTO or Airbus, nothing will happen as it is not in the interest of any country that Boeing will be 'punished' for this. They all know that this kind of tax brakes are given out very regularly by all countries.

In the end of the day it's also Bombardier that was bailed out by Canada for the losses on the CSeries program. And let's not talk about the Chinese and Russian programs.

Nothing will happen.
