Yeah, the modified version of the American flag in the new livery looks pretty lame, if not bad. I would've wanted to see an eagle on its tail, especially with its B77Ws flying all over the world, since it represents the national bird of the United States.

I just realised that the AA flight I booked between London and New-York in may was (if no change) operated by the new AA 777-300er, I was pretty annoyed to fly AA as I really don't enjoy their economy class, but this news made my day.
I will hopefully post some photos here.

Also, without loving it, i prefer the new livery than the old one which started to look really really old.

Are these images hoax or real things? Or did I missed something? Apparently there is one (or two?) Boeing 777-300ER that have been delivered to American Airlines.

There are two B777 300s listed for AA.

I will do a closer inspection myself with another aircraft photo forum.

Did a close-up inspection, and those pictures are of the B777-200ER, not the B777-300ER since there is one that has been delivered, but not yet painted with the new livery.

But the first image looks genuine. The engine and wing is typical of Boeing 777-300ER.

The best way to tell if the aircraft is indeed a B777-300ER with AA (or any other aircraft): check the tail registration. Currently, the tail registration you will need to look for would be N717AN — that will be AA's B777-300ER.

The URL of the picture tells it all.

AA does not have any 300ERs in the old polished livery.

I've figured it out already... I just don't want to tell anyone since I know the aircraft isn't a B777-300ER to begin with. It's just that, someone must've modified it for some reason to have it presented that way, and I looked at the actual aircraft: it will be painted with the new livery.

It doesn't really matter how this Photoshop was done, it's just the most straight forward answers to bagus70's question.

It's a modified picture, it's fake.

Very impressive photoshop work indeed....
Because as far as I know, AA's existing Boeing 777 fleet consist of -200ER only.

Boeing has revealed a 1st image of the of the 777-9X at the Pacific Northwest Aerospace Industry conference in Lynnwood, Washington (USA).

Here's a snapshot of the picture that from top to bottom shows the 747-8, the 777-9X and the 787-10

image hosted on flickr

Boeing's Randy Tinseth quietly shows first public rendering of 777-9X with folding wing. #PNAA by Jon Ostrower, on Flickr

via: https://twitter.com/jonostrower

The current design of the 777-9X won't have winglets but folding wingtips for clearance at airports since it will have a very wide wingspan.
