I agree with you.

If anyone dislike the shape of Boeing 777, then they shouldn't subscribe this thread

So sad to see these beautiful birds in such state.

I can still clearly remember when I first stepped into the interior of the first Boeing 777, N7771 (now Cathay Pacific's B-HNL). It was so great and excellent, especially since each seats (including the economy class) came with PTV.

It's hard to believe that time have passed so quickly and some Boeing 777 have already met its fate at scrapper's yard.

Boeing 777 in Singapore Airlines livery is definitely a symbol of luxury, so seeing them in such state is just sad.

This aircraft was one of the first few GE90-powered Boeing 777, it initially entered service with British Airways before moving to several other airlines.

The 1st delivery happened already 19 years ago, the early 777s are starting to get old. In the current aviation age it's even remarkable that so few have been scrapped. But there will be more and more that will turned into soda cans from now on, you can't stop that.

How about this Air India 777-200LR, delivered in 2009. Air India has cannibalized for the 5 777-200LR that have been sold to Etihad. Including this one they will still try to sell the remaining 3. But it remains to be seen if this one will be sold in an airworthy condition. Time will tell.

That is definitely a victim of Indian-style negligence, and typical financial mismanagement of Indian airlines.

I read somewhere that the aircraft pictured(VT-ALH) and the other two remaining Air India 777-200LRs are going to be sold to Etihad to then pass on to other airlines they part-own or are about to part own. So there is still hope for this less than 5 year old 777.

The pros of having VT-ALH is quite plausible: the spare parts of Boeing 777-200LR are still widely available, so bringing the plane up into the sky is purely a matter of finance.

Though not cheap I'm sure someone like EY will see the sense in doing so. And I'm sure most PAX wont know such a plane had been in such a condition for a year or two.

I really hope PK picks them up, they are looking for 4 widebody jets anyways, would be a great addition.

PK wasn't one of the airlines mentioned. EY would pass them on to airlines like Jet or Alitalia.
