As Boeing is trying to fill up the delivery slots before the 777X arrives by giving large discounts it could also be an offer that United simply cannot refuse.
Boeing obviously cut them a nice deal!

I assume that United's Boeing 777-300ER will replace the Boeing 747-400, and probably the Boeing 777-200 (non ER) too.

Surely indeed. I hope there will be more of those B77Ws in service with both UA and AA soon to allow even more intercontinental flights from the United States, but I really want to see the B744s for a bit longer...

The follow up news articles on the United 777-300ER order suggest that it will be a conversion from their current firm 787-9 order.

Which is very positive for Boeing, it will fill up the open 777 production slots while at the same time open open up early 787 slots that can be sold at a good price. As United still has plenty of options for the 787 left it's also certain that they will re-order the 787s on a later date.

The conversion is expected to come up on Boeing's 1st order update, maybe even without an press release. It will also be interesting to see if Boeing already sold the opened 787 slots to a new customer straight away. Like what happened when Air Berlin cancelled their order last year.

Hello Guys ..

So , I've noticed that in PT-MUE the 3 separated windows in the front had be aggoint with the rest of the windows between door 1 and door 2 !

Before :

After :

Does that mean that PT-MUE had its first class seats removed as TAM stated that they'll do on the 777 fleet ?
