Base is passable, the tower a big snore. 6/10

You're being overly generous, which is thankfully part of your nature. I would give it a 4/10.

Even when you disagree with me you manage to give me a compliment.

Over the last few years I've resigned myself to the reality that this kind of design seems to be the norm. I lowered my standards to avoid being disappointed so often. It's always wretched when it becomes the only option left.

Such a mind-numbingly boring design for such a prominent location.

Earlier I said I didn't like the building, but now I saw it in person and walk by it every day to go to my school. The facade is really unique and oozes vintage 1970s character, It's a shame they are removing it.
Just the faded bronze glass in between the concrete colonnade is in bad shape and should be replaced. Perhaps with a darker shade of bronze or reflective blue.

There are machines at the base that cut away a part of the facade already...

I'm rather pissed off they don't recognize its architectural value as well. It looks like this will be yet another 70s building that falls victim to Toronto's mad rush to make everything look current.

Btw, welcome to Toronto. If you want any advice on things to do/check out feel free to pm me.

It looks like a very bulky building.

If it was thinner, it wouild look more delicate and look better.

I find big bulky buildings a refreshing change from all the skinny point towers we get. They just don't have the presence that a squat building can provide. The issue for me is the destruction of the 70s office building currently there and the mind numbing design.

It's far move elegant and attractive than 95% of the buildings they build these days; including the current proposal. It's such a shame that by the time Torontonians wake up to what they have, they'll only be able to view it in old picture books.

That 70s facade is AWESOME!

The old building must have felt like a prison with these bars.
