Eco-friendliness will be a key feature of the complex, making it the city’s first green residential area. With its own sewage pumping station and sewage treatment plant, waste water from all the buildings will be treated and recycled for gardening and washing purposes. Rainwater harvesting will be a salient feature of the complex. A car park wide enough for 5,000 cars and a commercial zone will be the other features.

Why do a lot of Indian developments, that aren't in Mumbai, seem to be placed in the middle of forests instead of in city centers?

In Mumbai, big parcels of land are still available in core city centres in the form of derelict, old, closed down mills which are being redeveloped to new projects. This is not the case in other cities like Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai etc. where the core city areas are mostly densely built up; hence big sized projects are coming up on the outskirts & peripheral locations thereby increasing the geographic size of the city itself.

why can't the old dilapidated buildings of city core be brought down for new modern constructions?

The Construction of Urbana has shifted gears in the last couple of months & pace is moving very fast. I was speaking to a site engineer today and he said that by this time next year, The 4 U/C Towers will top out. The remaining 3 towers will start rising above ground by Q3 of this year.
Tower 1 has already reached 30th level and has crossed 110m, as of now.
