Stunning as always. Making me regret not taking so many photos on my last trip. Definitely going to work on my skills before next time!

In all seriousness I can't say I enjoyed either more so than the other. They are both very similar cities. They both have near identical transport systems, with their underground/metro weaving their ways through, accompanied with their overground/regional trains, and beyond that the intercity trains. They both have densities around 5-8 stories with towers scattered throughout the inner core, but focused in an office area a few kilometers away from the tourist/shopping areas (La Defence/Canary Wharf). They both have promenades (the mall outside buckingham palace/Eiffel tower) the roads are organic and not grid, and have ring roads.

they both have many tourist attractions and both have many homeless people. Very dirty and also raining/cold. both cities promote their architecture of old and strive for architectural peices of the current age. Both passionate for football, and both have their slum areas.

the only real difference is that english is the main language in london, whilst it is a second language i paris, but still most people can speak it.

i enjoyed the two of them as much as the other, however somewhere like barcelona I am finding very different and being from a warmer place called Perth I am enjoying it more so far. though it means I don't get to wear the cool jackets that I would get to in Paris and London. Also i want to add Rome to that list with London and Paris as being very similar. I guess if anyone says they prefer one over the other it would come down to their own personal experience, with the people they deal with, or the events that just happened to be on during their stay, rather than a difference in the actual city.

I thoroughly enjoyed your updates. It spurred an interest in me to do something similar. How much did it cost, if you don't mind my asking?

Amazing trip Docker. What lenses did you take? Do you use a polarizer or just a UV filter?

LAF, after some budget blow outs, and having to buy multiple tickets for some trips as i slept in and missed the trains i worked it out to be about $10,000.

jackso, I started off with a Sony 18-70mm and a 70-300m. but i broke the 18-70mm when i was in edinburgh thanks to a bit too much alcohol and bumping into people in a small nightclub. so when i was in london i got a second hand 20-70mm Minolta but it acts more like a 24mm-70mm because it doesn't quite line up properly, and i got a new Sigma 10-20mm, which i started using the most. and why a lot of the more recent photos are of such a wide angle.

and i don't use any filters or polarizer's. just a bit of a quick touch up in iphoto as i load them to facebook so i can post them here

Day 73 Perth, so I am going to finish this thread with some photos of home since my trip in June will be outside of the 70 day time period, and I might start a new thread for them.

nice job Llinass. It might be better when i put together a 12min slideshow of the best photos. it currently takes 40mins to watch all of the photos shown in this thread getting 1 second each. I sure hope you enjoyed it

Orionol, for the most part I indeed traveled alone. First time off the continent of Australia. The first two weeks in India I was with a group of students, but they then went home and I continued on to Cambodia. I meet up with some friends in different places around the continents, but none of them traveled to the next destination with me. Have you done something similar?

Was it fun to meet new people? BTW do you have contact with them or?

No, I have never done anything like this, but I would like to do a Around the world-travel, if I had the money for it. I am a student, so my money goes to food, rent and books etc., instead of travel. I am planing to do a around the world-travel as soon as I get a good job and leave the school (summer 2014). How much money did you save to be able to implement your trip? Im a little curious.

Despite being a student as well, and overloading my study, I had two jobs, but I still had to get a bank loan of $6,000 as I had some unfortunate expenses just before leaving, including having to purchase a new laptop, after my sister broke my 1 year old computer as well as some other stuff.

But about a quarter of the people I met I got on facebook and keep in contact. the rest of them were awesome to meet, especially the ones who would feed me. My recommendation is to just go and do it. I only considered going on the trip about 2months before leaving, and then just enjoyed it after that.

but this is this mornings sunrise, here in Perth
