Martinelli Building

The construction of the building began in 1922 and it was inaugurated in 1929 with 12 floors. The construction of the building followed until 1934. The work ended when the building had 30 floors (130 meters). The building was designed by Italian Brazilian entrepeneur Giuseppe Martinelli.

Raised with the construction technique of brick masonry and concrete structure. Currently considered the most important architectural symbol of the moment of transition from the lower city. Construction began in 1924 and opened in 1929 with 12 floors. The work was resumed and continued until 1934, ending the work with 30 floors and 105 meters high. When finished, the Martinelli Building surpassed the A Noite Building, located in Rio de Janeiro, the tallest skyscraper in Brazil and Latin America, which had been opened in 1929. In 1935, the highest in Latin America has become the Kavanagh building, raised in Buenos Aires, which measured 120 meters high.

Altino Arantes Building

The building was constructed to be the headquarters of the Bank of the State of São Paulo (Banespa), between 1939 and 1947. It remained the tallest building of the city for two decades until surpassed by the Edifício Itália. Soon after its completion in the 1940s, it was named the world's largest structure of reinforced concrete. It was designed by Plínio Botelho do Amaral, who was inspired by the Empire State Building and Frank Lloyd Wight. Its panoramic view of the center of São Paulo and its outskirts attract thousands of visitors. In the future, the Altino Arantes building will become the headquarters of the Banespa Cultural Institute, facilitating artistic and cultural activities.

The building has 35 floors, is 161.22 meters tall and 17,951 square meters in area, and has 14 elevators, 900 steps and 1,119 windows. For 20 years, it was the tallest building in São Paulo. In 1948, it was considered to be the biggest reinforced concrete structure in the world.

Copan Building

The Edifício Copan (Copan Building) is a 140-metre, 38-story residential building in São Paulo. Construction began in 1957 and, following some interruptions, was completed in 1966. It is one of the largest buildings in Brazil and has the largest floor area of any residential building in the world.

The building was not named after the ancient Mayan city in Honduras; the name is an acronym for its original developer, Companhia Pan-Americana de Hotéis e Turismo (Panamerican Company for Hotels and Tourism). The building was designed by Oscar Niemeyer's office in São Paulo, he himself being responsible for the famous sinuous facade design. In its final version, the building had 1,160 apartments and 5,000 residents. Due to the large number of residents, the São Paulo City Hall gave the building its own postal code (CEP: 01046-925). The current condominium has over 100 employees to serve residents and to conduct maintenance. The ground floor is home to 70 businesses and establishments including (since the 1990s) a church, a travel agency, a bookstore, and 4 restaurants. Its site has 10572.80 square meters.

Matarazzo Building

Matarazzo Building (Edifício Matarazzo in Portuguese, also known as Palácio do Anhangabaú (Anhangabaú Palace) is the cityhall of the city of São Paulo, Brazil. It belonged to Banespa until 2004, when it was sold to the city government. It was designed by Italian architect Marcello Piacentini under the will of Ermelino Matarazzo, in order to host the headquarters of his industries.

According to the deal made with Banespa, the building would be given to the city government as part of the debt of 885 million reais (some 466 million dollars) that the extinct CMTC had with the bank. The city would then owe 156 million reais, to be paid in four years.
