Since KLM took one delivery of a A332 earlier this year that was supposed to become a tanker can we expect that this one will also find a home at an airline soon? Or if this one already to far modified as a tanker to be converted back into a propper passenger A332?

I can't find anything on the internet about the future purpose for this airframe. Perhaps it will be converted, but the re-paint in the Airbus house livery suggests it will be used for testing.

Airbus did mention something about a possible next generation A330 coming out in a couple of years when they delivered the 1000th A330. A330 is the best looking product Airbus has made to date.

Airbus has today officially launched a new lower weight version of the A330-300 at the Beijing Airshow which they talked about earlier this year at the Paris Airshow.

Quote:
Airbus announces lower weight A330 for regional & domestic operations

Optimised for shorter haul missions, offering higher capacity, long-range comfort and unbeatable economics

25 September 2013 Press Release
Airbus has announced a new lower weight variant of its versatile A330-300 wide-body aircraft that is optimised for use on domestic and regional routes in high growth markets with large populations and concentrated traffic flows. China will be one of the most important markets for this new version of today’s world’s most efficient and reliable widebody aircraft.

The announcement was made by Fabrice Bregier, President and CEO of Airbus, at the Aviation Expo China (Beijing Airshow) 2013, which has opened its doors today in Beijing.

“The new lower weight A330-300 variant specially designed for regional and domestic use is Airbus’ solution for markets with large populations and fast growing, concentrated air traffic flows. Operators of the new A330-300 variant will benefit from a proven, mature and reliable aircraft that brings relief to limited airspace, airport congestion and pilot shortage,” said Fabrice Bregier. “We are announcing the new A330-300 lower weight variant today in China because here we see strong pent-up demand for efficient and reliable wide-body aircraft connecting mega cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu and Guangzhou.”

Compared to current A330-300 variants that are adapted to longer-range missions of up to 6,100 nautical miles (nm), the new A330-300 regional and domestic variant will be optimised to seat up to around 400 passengers in Airbus’ best in class 18 inches wide economy seat comfort on missions up to 3,000 nm and offer significant cost savings through a reduced operational weight of around 200 tonnes. The reduction in fuel burn per seat and maintenance costs thanks to these innovations will result in an overall cost reduction by up to 15% compared with the today’s long-range A330-300 variants.

In addition, the new A330-300 variant will benefit from the latest A350 XWB and A380 technologies. These include cockpit functionalities such as dual head-up display and the latest navigational systems. The cabin will also be future proofed with innovations such as modern slimline light-weight seats, high broadband wi-fi connectivity throughout, the newest In-Flight Entertainment allowing HD TV, LED lighting and full colour mood lighting.

We might see several Chinese orders the next couple of days, the Beijing Airshow started today and runs until the 28th.

Garuda Indonesia takes first of 18 A330-300s

Garuda Indonesia, the national carrier of Indonesia, has taken the delivery of the first of its new fleet of 18 A330-300s at a special ceremony in Toulouse today. The new aircraft will form a major element in the airline’s fleet modernisation programme and are powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines.

The airline’s new A330-300s feature a two class premium layout, with 36 seats that convert to full flat beds in Business Class and an extra spacious Economy cabin with an average seat pitch of 33-34 inches. Garuda Indonesia will operate the aircraft from its hubs in Jakarta and Denpasar (Bali) to destinations across Asia, the Middle East and the Pacific.

The aircraft will join an existing Airbus fleet at the airline that currently includes 10 recently acquired A330-200s, used primarily on long range routes, and six early version A330-300s flying on domestic and shorter regional services.

“The A330 has been a key element in the success of Garuda Indonesia,” said Emirsyah Satar, President & CEO, Garuda Indonesia. “It remains one of the most efficient aircraft types on the market today and is a firm favourite with our passengers, offering the highest levels of in-flight comfort.”
Garuda Indonesia currently operates 106 aircraft and with its quantum leap programme, will be operating 194 by 2015.

“With its new A330-300s Garuda Indonesia will benefit from proven operational reliability and the lowest possible operating costs,” said John Leahy, Chief Operating Officer, Customers, Airbus. “At the same time, the airline’s passengers will be able to relax in one of the most comfortable cabins in the sky, with more space and wider seats in both classes than on competing aircraft in this size category.”

The twin engine A330 is one of the most widely used widebody aircraft in service today. To date, Airbus has recorded over 1,250 orders for the various versions of the aircraft and more than 1,000 are flying with 100 operators worldwide. Over 1.2 billion passengers have enjoyed travelling on the aircraft which currently operates out of 300 airports across the world.

Korean Air and Asiana could use it, and get 747 out of GMP CJU route.

Airbus only announced the launch, there were no orders at the end.

And nobody said their would be any orders, I just said there might be some orders. So calling it speculation is a bit too much, it's not like I said that we could expect some orders.

But I'm sure that Airbus did talk with several Chinese airlines and the CAAC about this plane while they were there.
