Good spot but could that be the rearmost section of the Beluga XL to which the outsize tail will be attached?

Wow. That Airbus A330 NEO will surely bring in even more money from airlines lining up to upgrade their current aircraft. However, it is still not a direct replacement to the aging B757 aircraft, yeah?

IAG are to launch an LCC with A330s to compete with Norwegian on Barcelona Americas routes.

It will not be Vueling branded. Possibly a new brand with Aer Lingus crews flying the A330s.

It's just an upgraded version of A330-300, so it's much larger then a 757.

Norwegian won't be impressed, they always say that only they got the right plane right now to make a long haul LCC work.

Well they wouldn't.

But as IAG are the only legacy carrier group to grow a successful LCC so far, don't bet against them doing it again. Norwegian have been crapping on their lawn for quite the while now.

The black mask is a useless gimmick. Looks ok on the A350 but not so much on the A330neo.

I'm disappointed with it. I thought it would look more genuine like the A350 but now I notice the cockpit windows are same as existing A330s with just a black paint around it.

A few questions?

Who is the first delivery to for the A330-Neo?

Does it come in both -200 & -300 Neo versions?

Why would a carrier choose the Neo over the A350-900 or vice versa?

Thanks

The first delivery will be in Q1 2018 to TAP Portugal

Yes it comes in -200 and -300 Neo versions, but they renamed it in -800 and -900

The 330neo is smaller and cheaper compared to the A350

330-800neo ---- 58,82 meter long -252 million USD
A350 XWB ----- 66,8 meter long - 308 million USD

That is the reason Airbus dropped the A350-800. It would be basically a a330neo 900

It's a sexy plane, but the cheap hooker eyeliner is distracting.

It means that every single additional meter of A350 compared to A330-800neo cost 7 million USD

It sticks out because of the full white body.
