I truly love the A330 as well, especially it looks cleaner and sleeker than the B767 or the B777; however, the thing is, it looks a bit narrow to me.

And by the way, feel free to share your experiences, images, and ideas for this formidable aircraft because I would love to see your sentiments on this.

I wonder if there's any movement on the A330P2F program.

That's an interesting question, the last news about it is already more then a year old.

But with the slump in the air cargo market it's not really that surprising that there's not to many developments around this conversion program. There are enough 2nd hand freighters to be picked up for a small price, even pretty new ones. There might simply not be enough orders for Airbus to start the program right now.

This might not be news of the year but it's about a new A330 operator. After various unsuccessful attempts to acquire A330-200 during the last years (both new and used), Aerolíneas Argentinas seems to have reached an agreement with ILFC to lease four used PW-powered, 230t mtow A330-223s. According to several credible reports on an Argentine forum two have already been confirmed and would be cn 290 and 300, so two ex-Sabena/Malaysia birds. The other two are still subject to technical inspection by Aerolíneas but could be cn 358 and 364, which are ex-Air Afrique/Atlasjet. The first of these four planes would be delivered in early July, with further deliveries taking please at a rate of one per month after July. It is also reported that within the agreement the interior of these planes will be reconfigured to the same configuration, which hasn't been specified yet but will probable see Business Class changed to somewhere around 30 seats and Economy accordingly. Nothing about new seats or new inflight entertainment though.

These A330 don't have crew rest compartments like Aerolíneas' A340, and refitting them was considered to be too expensive. Due to current labour agreements this will mean that they won't be flying to Europe but only within the Americas, which shouldn't really be a problem since the twice-daily Ezeiza-Miami already requires two dedicated planes, and on top of that you have flights to Cancún, Caracas, Bogotá, and hopefully some additional destination in the next few years. This will also enable Aerolíneas' A340-300s to focus on longer routes, where they are still quite efficient compared to A330 (which wouldn't have the legs to get beyond Spain anyway).

With that in mind, question: do you believe that the AR A332s can fly between EZE and MIA, if not JFK? Those would be suitable long-haul destinations too for that aircraft type... Or how about about EZE-MEX (and can continue on to LAX)?

Ezeiza-Miami will almost certainly get the A330 if Aerolíneas finally receives them. There are no news about reopening Mexico, New York or Los Angeles, although at least the first two wouldn't come as a surprise if they were announced (especially now that Aerolíneas belongs to Skyteam). And in that case the A330 would of course be the way to go.

That'll be great news. Any cabin features that AR revealed for its Business and Economy Class cabins? And will those have PTVs and AVOD on board, as well as lie-flat seats for Business?

Depends on whether they will make any bigger changes to the cabins, which I think they won't. Right now these planes feature non-AVOD PTVs both in Business and Economy. No lie-flat seats in Business either.

It's still better than what Aerolíneas offers on their four A340-200 and the two non-X A340-300 they are about to return to their lessor.

So if that's the case, what kind of seats will Business Class passengers enjoy? Standard reclining seats? I know that lie-flat seats are seats that do not necessarily turn into fully-flat seats for sleeping (like, 165 degrees versus 180), but, should AR have standard reclining seats for the A332, I guess it's a great thing, especially for long flights to Mexico and the United States.

And by the way, speaking of AR's A340s, what makes you say the A330s will be much better than the A340, aside from a smaller size and PTVs? Do any of AR's A340s have PTVs, if at all?

I think they do, but they're horribly outdated since a few frames are leased from Air France. I really hope that they revamp their image should they receive the 330s.

Hopefully, their cabin layout will be refreshed once those are initially delivered to AR, and I hope that it will signal a brand new beginning for Argentina's flag carrier. I wonder though if it will also be used on its EZE-SCL service?

Now that signals a fresh start for a legacy flag carrier! How many seats will it have in F, C, and Y classes, and will it have AVOD on board?
