TORONTO | 100 Adelaide West - Ernst & Young | 188m | 42 fl | T/O

A new office project that seems to be moving forward.

the render shows a 44 floor version of the tower that appears to be the same height as the bay adelaide centre in the background, which is 214m, so a 42 floor version is likely to be around 205m.

Oxford has secured a lead tenant.

I'm inclined to believe it is the CPPIB (Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board).

This is now moving forward, leases in the older building are not being renewed and tenants are moving out. Early to mid 2013 we should see action on this site.

Excited to see this office building go up!

Kiboko: We are having an office boom along with our condo boom. Many more projects are coming in the pipeline, both office and condo. Exciting times for Toronto!

Renders are never to scale. They take huge liberties to highlight and flatter the proposal. It would be a stretch if this made it to 200m. 180m seems more likely. A great looking building though.

considering BAC 2 is going to be 192m (44 floors) without that 5ish floor tall mech penthouse on the top, I think this one will scrape by the 200m mark.

The point is its misleading and cheeky to post something as a 200m+ building when we don't know. It's a case of putting the carriage before the horse. How are people to trust these threads when things aren't based on facts?

It's not a reasonable expectation for people to read through pages of posts to figure out if its real or just speculation/opinion. It's too late now so you might as well leave it, but we should try to keep these threads transparent and a place people can depend on for accurate information.

It's an Art Deco (Baldwin and Greene - 1929) Concourse Building.

It's appalling that the Concourse Building will be demolished. Preservation in this city is a joke.

This one is starting construction. The lead tenant is Ernst and Young.

Do you realize what they are destroying for it? The Concourse Building is is one of the last art deco office buildings left in Toronto. I will never do business with Ernst & Young again. It's a crime of civic vandalism what they're doing here. God, can't someone do something?

as you can see in the proposals...the art deco building's facade isn't destroyed, it is just built around it.

Nope. They're destroying it, then recreating a shell on 2 sides to give the illusion that the building is still there. The ceilings, floors, interior walls, etc. will all be lost: 99% of that building will end up in a landfill. It's Toronto's idea of 'preservation'.
