Phoenix, Arizona - Downtown Area

Enjoy some pics of Phoenix, Arizona!

I took these pics yesterday, they start around 9th St & Washington, and progress into downtown.

Thanks for the pictures; interesting for me as a friend has recently moved from Alaska to Phoenix.

No problem, hope you enjoyed them! If you have never been to Phoenix - Just understand that all of Phoenix proper does not look like the photos I posted. That is just the downtown area. And to put it in prospective - The city of Phoenix is 516.7 sq miles, and the downtown area is just a very small area of that. The rest of Phoenix is much more "urban-sprawl" like, and there are many vacant lots and even empty fields. And although downtown Phoenix is growing and becoming more vital, there is still a huge percentage of Phoenicians who never go there, like pbrdpbrd (the poster below).

Like I said above, this is true of a lot of Phoenix residents. I bought my house close enough to downtown and the light rail that I would no longer be car-dependent. Downtown Phoenix has gotten much better in the past few years. With Cityscape and the light rail there are many more amenities accessible available, and that is bringing an influx of people to the downtown area. With all these new consumers (and students because of ASU Downtown), more businesses are sprouting up and making the downtown area a more desirable place to visit (or live). If you haven't been here in a few years it might be worth your while to come check it out again.
