Double that and you can afford yourself a 6-floor penthouse next to One Madison Park as listed on penthouses.com. When buying, you don't have to mind that your living room looks like a hotel lobby and that some rooms were redesigned in a style best described as "Louis XV on diarrhea".

Serious why do the ludicrously richt usually have no taste?

Love the high ceilings in the living room. But yes, having lots of money doesn' teach you taste...

Nah, what I meant was that the design of that particular apartment fits the American description of a "loft" and it is a bit too "poor" to be a penthouse. A loft can be on any floor, but a "penthouse" is always the top floor, even of an industrial building, but it has to be "rich", otherwise it is just another apartment. That's what I meant.

Absolutely. Jean Nouvel is such a great designer. Top location as well.

Why on earth would someone need or want two seating areas in his living room Designing your interior like it is ready to cater 50 of your best friends at once would just make me feel lonely most of the time, really.

The plan (as it stands) is clearly for entertaining, something the superrich do a lot of:

Personally, I'd install a pool table in the LR closest to the guest suite.

I would probably do the same. Anyway, you can deal with a lot of visitors in this apartment.
