I dont like it. I dont think it will change that so disorganized and messy area of Rio. of course it will be a huge impact, but the city center is in cinelandia area, wich is a much better area than Francisco Bicalho avenue. And all the favelas, so poor, ugly and violent, will continue there.

Despite that, I like the Central do Brasil station project, but that is not the Porto.

Central do Brasil isnt in the harbor area, there is a hill (and a lot of favelas) btw them.

This project is going very well designed. The consequences will be a revitalized this region who walked long forgotten by the authorities. The trend is then ready to attract new traders, growth for this region.

Eventually Rio's CBD had to expand somehwere, and the port region is the ideal place for such development.

Today the region is like what you described but it wasnt always like that. A lot of important buildings are there and with the revitalization there's a bright future for that region.

NOTA EXPLICATIVA.

PREZADOS LEITORES...

Porem as empresas ainda: NAO SE ENTENDERAM EM RELACAO A UM PLANO UNICO DE ATERRAMENTO SUBTERRANEO DENTRO DO PORTO MARAVILHA...
Ou seja o PORTO MARAVILHA COLOCOU OS CANOS PARA RECEBER AS LINHAS E CABOS, POREM AS EMPRESAS NAO TEM UM PLANO OU PRAZO PARA SOTERRAR ESTES FIOS E CABOS)...

What a urban renewal, when I arrived in Rio Port, the taxi driver told me about it, I was surprised when He said no more upper highways, but He didn´t tell about the new tunnels.

he means: these horrible amount of overhead wires (light, phone,...) is very ugly at the landscape of the streets and buildings...
however, these companies that are responsible for these wires don't understand one each other for a unique plan of underground wires, because this, the porto maravilha put the underground tubes but these companies don't have a plan or forecast to change the overhead wires in underground wires....
