I'm sorry if most of the buildings which I can honestly say is underrated are those that I've seen.

Note that the first building I contributed to this discussion was the Lippo Center in Hong Kong. A building I've loved ever since I saw it when I was 11.

I feel equally strong about the three other buildings I indicated here. It just so happens that they are located in my country. Nothing jingoistic about.

I love the Mode Gakuen Cocoon Tower in Shinjuku, but many people detest it because they think it looks like a "silk worm".

This one looks real Dubaiish, i don't understand in what way it is underrated. The modernist black box on the left looks much better.

The Lipstick Building is indeed very nice. I once read in a book about it with floor plans and cool details.
The lobby and base are also beautiful.

Very classy towers.

Nope, Naberezhnaya is totally not underrated. Many people still mention it as the best skyscraper in Europe..

When it was built, the Dubai World Trade Centre was pretty much the only skyscraper over there, and it likely doesn't fit your "Dubaiish" criteria. 17 State Street looks far better than the boxes surrounding it, and the way it curves is beautiful in coordination with the bay.

Both of you make good points. I know when I went to NYC in July of 2011, 17 State Street and the Whitehall stuck out the most to me from the Harbor, but those black ones look great as well. Variety is what makes New York so incredible. There's no need to argue about which you like better.

Constitution Plaza / Hartford (1964)

Constitution Plaza always struck me as a piece of sculpture. The success of the space has always been questioned but I like it.
