Maybe Boeing should go after Spice Jet for a possible 737MAX order. Keep a all Boeing 737 fleet.

SpiceJet likely to switch from all Boeing to Airbus narrow body fleet: CAPA

SpiceJet is expected to order close to 50 Airbus 320s and make a transition from all Boieng to all Airbus fleet, Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation has said in its latest report. SpiceJet uses a mix of Boeing 737s and Bombardier Q400 turbo prop planes.

In a report relased on Monday CAPA said SpiceJet is currently developing a fleet plan for beyond 2017 and is likely to finalise an order for 50 A320s and A320neos by next month. The report said the airline may at the same time announce plans to eventually transition to an all‐Airbus narrow body fleet.

"Switching manufacturers would be a major strategic decision and one which would introduce significant operational challenges that will place great pressure on management capabilities in the short‐term. As a result of the move to Airbus narrow bodies we do not rule out the possibility of SpiceJet transitioning to ATRs in the medium term for its regional fleet, which currently consists of 15 Q400s,'' CAPA said in its report.

SpiceJet spokesperson did not respond to a text message seeking comments.

The report also said IndiGo, the largest domestic airline by market share, is IndiGo is likely to go in for an IPO in 2015. The airline is seeking financing for close to 25 of 180 A320/320 neos ordered in 2011 and may need to increase its equity base in order to support this. The carrier has sought permission from the Reserve Bank of India to raise USD760 million through external commercial borrowings. "We expect IndiGo to be in the market for capital in FY15 with an IPO being a possibility,'' CAPA said.

They have non directly on order with Boeing anymore, but the last 5 out of the 30 737-800 they currently are being leased from Gecas. I can't seem to find any news on any new lease deal, so I don't think that they have any new deliveries planned right now.

Well Royal Air Maroc has released a wish list of new destinations in Asia, Eastern/Central Africa, and Europe. They are not going to be able to add those new destinations unless they find more efficient ways to run their current fleet to meet the new demand. They will have to eventually lease more planes from Boeing or Airbus. Boeing I hope. Maybe the manufactures will give them a great deal on the current planes until the more NEO or MAX production slots open up. All I know is that we go one manufacture or spilt a possible order for more planes.

They are looking into an order for the next generation narrowbodies, they are not just looking at Boeing or Airbus for that. But that's for a delivery around 2020. If they want to add new planes on a very short term they can easily lease or buy some 2nd hand 737s, there might also be some new leases available if they shop around at the leasing companies.

The 2 last have been delivered in mars and april 2013 : CN-RGM and CN-RGN.

I just wondered if there was nothing soon.

RAM has finished to sold his 4 A320. Now they change their strategy. They want to link more cities (Prague, Munich, Athens ...) more frequencies and better filling ratio because 737-800 are too big for such links. They want also to stop triangular links in some small africans cities and opened direct flight.

So they launch a tender for 12/15 100 seats plane. They have just rented 2 Embraer 190[ in order to test that kind of plane. Bombardier CSeries
Embraer 190 and Sukhoï Supert Jet 100 are the 3 planes selectionned.

Thread and poll in moroccan forum : http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showth...1594172&page=4

RAM strategy is :
- 4 ATR 42/72 for domectic planes and Canarias, Malaga ...
- 15 100 seats planes for Europe and Africa smallest cities
- 37 737-800 for Europe and Africa biggest cities
- 4 767-300ER for New York, Montreal, and also busy lines time to time ALgiers, Amsterdam, Paris, London (Sao Paulo december)
- 1 747-400 for Haj, Montreal, Paris-Marrakech friday, and King,

Before 2020 :15/25 medium range and 5 long haul planes (4 787 ordered + 1 option). So I think that there will be more 737-800.

Even more pictures of PK-LKV. Warning: this post includes close-ups photos of intimate parts of a sexy aeroplane.

On this picture the emergency lights were switched on.

This airplane is so new, the announcements and music aren't installed yet.
