Copa Airlines HP-1836CMP von Rick Schlamp auf Flickr
Just a little correction my friend, most Copa Airlines planes come off the line without winglets, even before the Split Scimitar ones, because they install their winglets at COOPESA in SJO (I believe they have a contract with them for the installation of winglets, they even install the Split Scimitars, this plane had them installed some days ago there) and that's the reason why Copa's delivery flights go BFI-SJO and not BFI-PTY too, I read somewhere (maybe on the Copa Forum) that COOPESA installed the PTV systems on the first aircrafts with new cabins too (the -800's with 154 pax).

Also, the only Copa planes that come off the line with winglets are the ones leased from GECAS (those are 737-86N and not 737-8V3) like the ones with the Star Alliance livery.

Best regards from Panama City.

Shandong Airlines orders 50 Boeing 737 aircraft

Air China subsidiary Shandong Airlines has placed a firm order for 50 Boeing 737 aircraft, including 737NGs and 737 MAXs. According to the Jinan-based carrier, the aircraft are scheduled to be delivered between 2016 and 2020.

I don't see a breakdown of the order into the number of NGs and MAXs, maybe that will be in Boeing's press release that has not yet been posted on their website. Then we also know if it's actually firm firm order or that it's a firm after government approval order. There's no split order for 50 737s in the Unidentified Customer, it doesn't look like this one was previously booked.

No MAX order yet, but Ryanair has topped up last years mega order with 5 737-800s

Quote:
RYANAIR BUYS 5 MORE BOEING 737-800 AIRCRAFT

NEW ORDER INCREASES FROM 175 TO 180 UNITS, WITH 4 IN 2015 & 1 IN 2016

Ryanair, Europe’s favourite low fares airline, today (30 Apr) confirmed that it has agreed to buy 5 more 737-800 series aircraft directly from Boeing, 4 of which will be delivered in early Summer 2015, with the 5th in February 2016, in a deal which increases Ryanair’s order book from 175 to 180 new Boeing aircraft. These 5 new aircraft brings the value of Ryanair’s order book to over $16 billion at current list prices. Ryanair will now take 21 aircraft deliveries (up from 17) between September 2014 and July 2015, which will enable the airline to open more routes and additional frequencies on existing routes for Summer 2015.

Boeing booked another order for 50 737s for an unidentified customer last week.
http://active.boeing.com/commercial/orders/index.cfm

It could be the recent Shandong Airlines order, it could be something different.

edit, it's the Shandong order.

"Thanks to our customers for 55 new orders in the past week, including 34 orders for the new 737 MAX"
https://twitter.com/BoeingAirplanes/...96858604822528

"737 MAX closing in on 2,000 total orders. Currently 1,973 from 38 customers."
https://twitter.com/BoeingAirplanes/...98034977050624

Out of the 38 customers 28 are currently known customers (including the BBJ customer and Shandong order which is still listed as unknown). With 18 other undisclosed orders we now that there are 10 more customers that are still completely unknown. The other 8 undisclosed orders are done by known customer or by an unknown customer that has already placed more then 2 orders.

2014 to date: 210 orders
current market share vs. the neo: 43% (rounded up upwards and not counting any non announced neo orders in April).

New orders last week.

http://active.boeing.com/commercial/orders/index.cfm

Turkmenistan Airlines:
737-800: 3x (as previously posted by moderntm in this thread, now firm)

Undisclosed Customer:
737 MAX: 7x (conversion from the NG as there's also a cancellation with the same numbers).

This brings the MAX total to 1980, just 1 larger order shy of the 2,000 mark.
