I think this has not been posted here yet... but this would be an interesting development for the B737 MAX:

Norwegian mulls B737 MAX longhaul operations

If successful, it can allow the airline to swap aircraft easily based on passenger loads (between the B787, which it operates now, and the future aircraft).

Quote:
Norwegian (DY, Oslo Gardermoen) CEO Bjψrn Kjos has reiterated his carrier's plans to use its incoming fleet of B737 MAX 8s to open up flights from secondary European cities to not only the United States, but also the Caribbean, and possibly China.

“There are a lot of routes that we will serve in the future that are served via a hub-and-spoke system today that we will serve with direct flights,” Kjos told Bloomberg news concerning the MAX's potential. “You could even serve western China, there are lots of big cities you could serve out of Europe.”

The LCC has 100 firm orders with Boeing (BOE, Chicago O'Hare) for the type with a further 100 options. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in 2017.

If Boeing is going to start introduction in 2017 that means the companies are either starting to develop or have already started developing the 737MAX parts and they are in the test phase at the individual factories. Boeing then will start to take delivery late December this year or in January of 2016 and assembly will start in February of 2016. Then roll out will occur and test flights will last till early to mid 2017 and FAA certification and around the world trips if they need it and then Boeing will start full time production if everything is on time.

RwandAir annouced some weeks ago, that they ordered a brand new Boeing 737-800, with a delivery either end of 2015 or early 2016. The airline got 2 B737-800 Sky Interior, in 2011. Furthermore, the airline operates 2 B737-700s leased from ILFC (Ex Air Berlin, built in 2007)

Currently, nothing on Boeing website, i guess we will have a statement from Boeing in few weeks.

The new 737 could also be a lease, especially with a delivery date this close.

How I wish a QC (quick change) aircraft can be developed for today's aviation needs, especially for remote operations...

Alaska Airlines B737-400 (QC) (reg. N764AS)

Here's a livery comparison for Dutch low-cost carrier, Transavia Airlines...

Current livery (reg. PH-GGX)

New livery (2015) (reg. PH-HZE)

Which of those is better?

Mongolian Airlines' 737-800 is fitted with winglets, which provide extended range, more payload and savings on fuel.

They have so many times changed their livery in their history... almost every 5-7 years....
The last one is boring, the former more eye-catching.
But i prefer this one.
