Unlike Boeing Airbus have another engine choice they can offer if things go really awry in 2016.

I don't think Boeing have _ever_ wished Airbus a happy new year before but they sure want one for the A320 neo team in 2016....just this once mind.
Are you implying that the 737 MAX uses the Pratt GTF engines? If so, it does not, the only engine option on the MAX is the CFM Leap-1B, that engine is not the one giving issues, it is the P&W one that is having issues that produced the delay you mentioned, so the MAX program is not affected.

Happy New Year.

The 737 MAX will indeed not be powered with P&W engines.

But if it was the current issues on the P&W engines for the A320neo would not be a problem for the 737 MAX program. The P&W engines are already certified, the last minute issues will be fixed soon to make the 1st delivery in January. That's just 1 month delay, nothing major.

And theoretically it would have meant that Airbus and P&W would use their resources to fix those A320neo engine issues, which P&W would then also be able to prevent those on the 737 MAX long before the 1st delivery of the MAX.

Again, as the MAX uses CFM engines (a US/French joint venture between GE & Safran) it's not even an issue.

Great photos guys. They are currently building 42 planes a month at the 737 factory in Renton Washington. I used to work there but left in 2010. We were building 31.5 a month when I left
