FYI, N801XA is the first of six new frames to be operated by Saudi Aramco, not Xtra Airways as posted incorrectly on other websites.

https://tykesaeroblog.blogspot.nl/20...st-flight.html

It will receive Saudi Aramco's new blue, green and white livery.

Hearing from my contacts that the 1st flight of the 737-9 MAX will be on Sunday April 9th. Why a Sunday, I'm not sure. Still working on getting a solid confirmation.

Was there a MXD Max to the south of the Alaska, next to the 34 threshold? I believe the yellow rudder one should be there, 1A203.

Nice to finally see the VOZ make an appearance. Rumor has it that it was used for target practice and needed some new panels.

Another 737 MAX order from Iran, of course still pending US Government approval.

Boeing Announces Agreement with Iran Aseman Airlines for 30 737 MAXs

Quote:
SEATTLE, April 4, 2017 – Boeing confirms the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Iran Aseman Airlines, expressing the airline’s intent to purchase 30 Boeing 737 MAX airplanes with a list price value of $3 billion. The agreement also provides the airline with purchase rights for 30 additional 737 MAXs.

According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, an aerospace sale of this magnitude creates or sustains approximately 18,000 jobs in the United States. Deliveries would be scheduled to start in 2022.

Boeing negotiated the MOA under authorizations from the U.S. government following a determination that Iran had met its obligations under the nuclear accord signed in 2015. Boeing will look to the Office of Foreign Assets Control for approval to perform under this transaction. Boeing continues to follow the lead of the U.S. government with regards to working with Iran’s airlines, and any and all contracts with Iran’s airlines are contingent upon U.S. government approval.

Yes 1A203 was there still. All the MAX's are missing their engine covers due to a quality issue with paint. So there won't be any new MAX flight out of Renton for a few weeks as they wait on new covers. All the old ones are stacked on pallets behind the factory.

It happens often. Ryanair EI-FZD had the same issue as well as a recent Lucky Air. People use them for target practice in transit.

Saw the painted rudder and tail for Westjet's MAX. Due to roll onto final assembly line tonight, it is currently in the wing/body join position.

You'd have thought the paint issues would've been identified already seeing as 4 of them having been flying for over a year! Doesn't really make sense.

It was a bad batch of paint that was received by Boeing. They are having to strip them and repaint as space allows. They can't disrupt normal production for these. Every MAX that has rolled out has these covers removed and area covered with plastic.
