The Dutch government has ordered a new 737BBJ but it has not been made clear what type it is going to be. It should be delivered in the beginning of 2019. Are there any unidentified orders that could be attributed to this? And is the an indication if it will be 737NG or MAX?

BBJ customers are usually not disclosed, as they stay listed under Business Jet / VIP Customer(s).

As for open BBJ orders for the 737. There are 14 open 737 MAX BBJ orders. But the last order for a BBJ was placed on 01-Feb-2017 was a 737 NG BBJ = 737-700. It's now the only NG BBJ in Boeing's order backlog.

It's not unlikely that this last order is the Dutch, but it remains speculation until it's confirmed.

Thanks,
So the 737-700 seems most likely, because I have read that they ordered in February

First Boeing 737 MAX Flight Simulator is FAA Certified
FAA has certified the first-ever Boeing 737 MAX full-flight simulator (FFS), located at Boeing’s Miami training center.

The FSS, made by TRU Simulation & Training, was certified to FAA Level C standard. Pilots can start training on an interim level C simulator. The qualification level will be upgraded to the level D standard once all final aircraft data is available, a TRU spokesperson told ATW.

Yes that is their 2nd one. This one has since rolled out into paint. The first one is a precert frame and still is in the factory. What is meant by precert, not sure. As Westjet is also a precert. Must have something to do with being the first MAX for their respective air authority and requires additional certifications

So both Batik Malaysia MAX's that have flown are inside the main hangar at BFI undergoing rework post FAA certification.

The remaining 2 test frames at BFI will be reworked at BFI and not flown back to RNT like the other 2 test frames.

All the remaining SWA frames at RNT will be reworked with changes required by FAA prior to B1 flights.

ANALYSIS: Boeing prepares for unprecedented 737 Max ramp-up
Delivering a new version of the 737 is old hat at Boeing. Eighteen major models have entered service since the debut of the 737-100 in 1968, including 10 versions of the NG series over the past 19 years alone. In all, 9,448 individual 737s have rolled out of the factory doors in Renton, Washington, through March 2017.

Despite this depth of experience, introducing the 737 Max into operational service will test Boeing's skills in unprecedented ways. Boeing will have to deliver more aircraft to a larger and more diverse group of operators faster than any other model in the company's storied history. It will have to manage the maturity of the 737 Max's onboard network server (ONS), a new and perhaps under-appreciated feature that could prove revolutionary in operating the single-aisle – if it is not undermined by undetected software bugs.

The Boeing 737 Max is in a spot of trouble. It appears Norwegian have new performance data on the 737-8.

NOTE. Most 737-8 Operators do not propose flying extreme sectors from the off, but Launch Operator Norwegian do starting June and never hid that fact.

One of the very first routes where the 737-8 was to deploy was ORK > US . Cork has a short enough runway but that was not a state secret or anything.

http://www.irishexaminer.com/busines...rk-447266.html

Now the reason they were 'going' to New York (Stewart) was because they crunched the numbers Boeing and CFM gave them.

Quote:
Cork to Stewart International Airport in New York State had been scheduled to begin in 2018 following the launch of Cork to TF Green Airport in Providence, Rhode Island this summer but that is currently looking unlikely, according to Bjørn Kjos.

Speaking in Dublin, Mr Kjos said the airline’s calculations regarding the runway length and the carrying of fuel and passengers meant Cork to New York was not possible at present.

However he added that the airline had not given up hope, as it was working with Boeing on aircraft that could make the journey possible and that if their calculations finally added up, it would mean Cork flights to New York.
Working with Boeing is a euphemism for....Boeing gave us a bum steer.

Kos added

Quote:
Normally Boeing end up producing a better aircraft than the prototype but it remains to be seen if it is possible to fly to Stewart. If possible, we will do it. As it looks with the figures we have so far, it’s a little bit too far.”
So it looks like some incremental improvement to the Leap engine did not happen yet, and may require a PIP improvement in 2018.

Kos realised that as launch operator he was heading into a right shitstorm here so he rowed back today.

http://www.irishexaminer.com/busines...ff-447385.html

Quote:
It is possible to make low-fare journeys from Europe to the US commercially viable, smaller airports are the future for passengers, and Cork is strategically one of the most important airports in Norwegian’s plans, he insists.
My Hole. He'll be back after the second round of PIPs on the Leap engine perhaps. The runway in Cork won't be extended by then anyway, or ever unless they put it on stilts.
