Yesterday i got the chance to take some 737MAX photos at CGK! I include some detailphotos to compare it with the NG-series.

PK-LQJ, everything is still clean and shining... It is a Lion Air aircraft but the tail is in Batik Air livery. They belong to the same Lion Group, but its still confusing.

The landing gear is modified compared to the NG-series. Its a little bit higher.

The new CFMI LEAP engines... besides another casing, another obvious difference from the outside is the new fan. The CFM56-7B from the NGs have 24 titanium fan blades, the LEAP has 18 carbon-fiber fan blades.

In the next part we continue with the wings.

My apologies btw for the low quality of the photos, i took them with a cheap Nikon S33 camera.
We continue with the wings. One of the differences between the NGs and the MAXs are the amount of vortex generators on the leading edge of the wing, on the NG there are three on each wing, on the MAX six of these devices.

In the third part we take a closer look at the fuselage.

The empennage is redesigned with some of the components on it also changed, like the APU-inlet door, APU-exhaust and the tail area around the APU.

Southwest should receive their 1st one in August, so within one month.

Southwest should be the next operator to take delivery. I believe they are taking several in August. I think they are taking 2 every 2 weeks in August. But that is hear-sea on the forums.

N8705Q & N8706W have been moved out of storage at BFI.

N8707P & N8708Q have been actively getting ready for their B1 flights this month.

The October date for SW is the start of commercial operations. They will start this with about 10 737 MAX.

Will any of the 10 be some of the later Max Prototypes?

None of the 10 will be the MAX test aircraft.

N8705 - N8715 are assembled and on the RNT flightline, with the exception of 8705 & 8706 which are at BFI already. They are scheduled to begin flight testing again this week or next.

Not before the end of Aug. N8705 & N8706 are due for a FCF flight at the end of August

Good question. I don't have an answer on that one.
