Ok!! Movement! Sounds like the park will be a go, even though the exact look is still conceptual:

Plan for Landmark 1- 7 Yonge Development Continues to Evolve
December 22, 2015 6:29 pm | by Craig White |

A plan to redevelop the Toronto Star lands at the base of Yonge Street continues to evolve as developer Pinnacle International and their architects Hariri Pontarini move closer to finalizing a plan with the City of Toronto. In response to talks with City Planning and with Waterfront Toronto, and in particular with their Design Review Panel, the proposal has morphed from the initial plan with 7 proposed towers to one with 5 towers. Arranged in two blocks—one block on either side of an eastwards extension of Harbour Street—3 residential towers are proposed to rise from a two-storey shared retail podium on the north block, while 2 office towers, one of which will incorporate the existing Toronto Star Tower, will rise from a shared retail podium on the south block......... Hmmm, seems a lot less compact then the original design.

It's gone from 7 towers to 5 so it's no optical illusion. The tallest is taller than it was so that was 1 concession granted.

Architectural plans for the renders above have finally been posted on the Cities website, which means we have a new formal height. The current project has a mechanical top of 303m, with the stylized parapet above reaching 320m. This project has gained some height!

If it remains at 320m it will look huge from the lake. It's 22m taller than FCP and much closer to water.

Plz , build it like that i hope the design will not change .Toronto need it.
This project was submitted to the city in 2011 and no sales started.
I heard that OMB(ontario municipal board) will review again this tower at the end of this year.
Yum so long to become real.
What a torture.

Im in love with type of style. Please don't change it. I think it fits perfectly with the rest of downtown architecture

(Urban Toronto) Interchange42 - "July City Council voted to SUPPORT this application at the OMB, as the City and developer have settled on terms for its development. The hearing is scheduled for October 24 of this year.

Extremely excited to see this supertall project move ahead!

This one will have the biggest effect on that traditional lake front skyline shot. It's 37% taller than anything south of the Gardiner.

All of the buildings were up-scaled - with the exception of the landmark tower which was down-scaled to 307m.

Pre-hearing is scheduled for Oct.24

now it depends. Previously, it was 303m to top of mechanical and 320 to Parapet. Unless the tower has been redesigned, the tower could have actually increased in height by 4m and is now 324m. The table doesn't mention the top of parapet.

nevermind. They stubbed the mechanical penthouse, probably for cost reasons. It does look a metre or two over 307m though still. I'd guess a total height of 308.5m.

Looks like we'll get a new peak in the traditional lake view.

100% unless we get hit by another financial crisis or real-estate crash. The question is, will the height be reduced... It already went from 320m---> 307m.
It's funny you should ask because the hearing is scheduled for tomorrow!
More news to surge...
