What a mediocre design! It doesn't make any difference and it doesn't stand out at all! What a pity, toronto is a very big, important city and it's only getting this.

Really disappointed.

They had a chance to build something truly iconic on this location. This building will be prominently displayed of Toronto Skyline views from the Lake and could have anchored the Eastern end of Toronto Skyline with the CN Tower anchoring the Western End.

But its just a bland tacky building.

No one can just by looking at this building tell if its Toronto.

Toronto needs to step up its game if it wants to be considered a world class city.

Actually, this kind of condo tower epitomizes Toronto.

But come on, it's not that bad.

Yeah sadly...but nothing unique about it.

You can look at Willis Tower and tell immediately its Chicago, or the Gherkin and tell its London, Chrysler Building and tell its New York, or Bank of America building and tell its Los Angeles.

In Toronto, its only the CN Tower and maybe City Hall. Toronto needs an iconic world class building.

Hopefully the Mirvish Gehry comes through.

This is actually considered "excellent" by Toronto standards.

The 2 taller towers have the potential to be ok but the shorter tower is typical of the coma inducing designs local developers think pass muster. I'm constantly baffled when they hype some proposals as ground breaking/innovative then the rendering is some pedestrian box better suited to an industrial park.

I'm almost hoping this doesn't sell well so they're forced back to the drawing board.

The architecture of the project is not that bad.
Honestly i love it and it's better than 95% of recent
proposals i this city. There is a certain creativity in the design
contrary to many other projects that are pure glass with big balconies.

The initial rendering doesn't look too bad, yet nothing spectacular. Hopefully this one will start construction soon. Phases 2 and 3 look to be much more promising in terms of architecture.

The construction could start this winter or early next year everyone.
Enjoy the article.

7 Yonge has slowly grown on me. I like the seamless twist of the balconies complementing the "banner". If the banner was there without the balconies, it would have risked looking pretentious. But because the balconies are there, it gives the design a cubic effect, and a convincing emphasis.

That's not the supertall so probably a little misleading to post in this thread.

Victoria123, thanks for posting the new renderings. The development info has also been posted on Urban Toronto. please see the link below.

http://urbantoronto.ca/news/2017/10/...ne-yonge-plans

So far, the new renderings look good. It is a step in the right direction. According to the article posted on Urban Toronto, the heights have changed. it will be interesting to see what the new heights are.
