Most expensive skypad currently on sale in your city

As the title reads.

According to the largest Dutch database, one of the top apartments in the Montevideo building is for sale, being the most expensive on offer for € 2.950.000 (570 m²). Itit comes with two whirlpools, one next to the window.

Yes, that's € 5.250 / m2. It's a 60% premium on top of the original price in 2005, and about twice the going rate people are willing to pay for an apartment around here. But then again, this is not your average apartment. Unless the buyer finds someone who specifically wants this place, I think he'll be stuck with it for a while. Doesn't even come with a balcony or terrace, which for me is a rather big no-no.

Copied from the penthouses thread...

The most expensive penthouse currently being advertised for sale in London seems to be this 8,000sqft (743sqm) apartment in the One Hyde Park Corner building at £65m ($105m) with views over both Hyde Park itself and London's Knightsbridge district.

The price equates to £87,483/m2 (€115,565 / $150,235)

The floorplan seems a bit eccentric but that's the shape of the building.

I'll have a look for other UK cities but they will be a tiny fraction of that price.

Either those windows are tinted or the Dutch aren't very bashful about nudity. I've always wondered if people are comfortable getting out and into a bathtub that is right next to a window overlooking an entire city.

^ Once you're up you either don't realize people might be watching you, or you just don't care. In this case, there is only one building with that height in the vicinity, and if these people get off on watching you stepping in and out of your bath tub good luck to them, really.

Aha, it seems that the three-storey penthouse that sits on the top (floors 44-46) of Manchester's tallest building is for sale at £3.75m (€4.61m / $6.04m) for 4,950sqft (460sqm)

£8,152/m2 (€10,035 / $13,145)

Time reported in a recent article the sale of (what I presume is the top floor apartment) of a project in Hong Kong called Opus. The 6,683-square-foot apartment sold for $58.7 million in October, the sales price corresponding to $8,800 per square foot or $94,500 per square meter. That same article points out One Hyde Park as posted by Jonesy.

I really wonder sometimes about these very exalted prices. Are they worth it? I guess it's the same with paying huge prices for Art -- but even there, you wonder whether people are being reasonable...

Off course not. Actually I would be surprised if the owner spends more then 30 days out of the year here. These apartments are just trophy pads for the very spoiled, really.

Agreed. They are just trophy properties with possible investment angles built in...

Most expensive pad I could find for sale in Scotland was this £1.65m (€2.03m / $2.65m) 185m2 penthouse apartment in Edinburgh's Quartermile development.

One 57 probably takes the prize for the most expensive, that is probably until the prices for 432 Park are revealed

Price for the top apartments in the New Orleans tower are 1,8M for a 211m2 apartment.
This 2 storey apartment has also 102m2 in balconies and roof terraces.
This is probably the most expensive in the Netherlands in m2 price.

That might be right. The most expensive one I could find in the Amsterdam Zuidas area comes down to app. € 7.200 / m2, which is the penthouse (22nd floor) of the New Amsterdam building. (this one). Knowing this is Amsterdam € 3 mio for a top priced apartment isn't even that exuberant, I mean not that they have a lot of skyscrapers over there, but I guess if you have real money to spend on housing in Amsterdam you spend it on a canal house in the inner city, not in some distant business district.
