नौलखा बस स्टैंड (नौलखा कॉम्प्लेक्स के पास) को शिफ्ट करने की दिशा में प्रशासन ने महत्वपूर्ण कदम बढ़ाया है। तय किया गया है कि बस स्टैंड को राजीव गांधी प्रतिमा सर्कल के पास शिफ्ट करके रिक्त करीब 65-70 हजार वर्गफीट जमीन बेची जाए। इससे जो आय होगी, पहला हिस्सा नया बस स्टैंड बनाने और शेष भाग चाचा नेहरू हॉस्पिटल के विकास में लगाया जाए।

सोमवार को चाचा नेहरू हॉस्पिटल के विकास कार्यों की समीक्षा में इस महत्वपूर्ण प्रस्ताव पर सहमति बन गई। संभागायुक्त बसंतप्रताप सिंह ने आईडीए सीईओ चंद्रमौलि शुक्ला के प्रस्ताव पर जल्द अमल करने के निर्देश दिए।

IDA wants final plan for new Indore railway station

Indore: The Indore Development Authority (IDA) has asked the railway to submit a detailed report of the plan finalised for the construction of the new railway station near MR-10 Bridge.

The site proposed for the new railway station is a piece of 300 acre of land near Kurmedi village.

The authority wants that first some final decision be taken on the plan for the new station, following which other needs of the railway will be considered.

After the request of the IDA to establish the new railway station, the Western Railway Ratlam rail division had proposed to install new link line.

Following this, the railway had asked the authority to allot land along the Super Corridor for the new link line to connect the Indore-Dewas broad-gauge line and the Indore-Ratlam rail line.

IDA CEO Chandramauli Shukla has now written to the railways asking them to prepare a final plan for the new railway station.

However, the railway believes that once the link line issue is resolved, the proposal can be forwarded strongly to the ministry.

Indore: Not just TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) but six other companies including I-T giants like Infosys and Wipro may also soon make its debut in Indore.

Bhopal can also expect arrival of a big company soon.

These promises were made by the Minister of Commerce and Industries, Kailash Vijayvargia, who inaugurated IDA’s PPP Conference on Friday.

The conference was held to discuss the public-private-partnership model that will be used for the development of the Medical Hub, Transport Hub, Inter-state Bus Terminus, Sports Complex and Malwa Mill Convention Center.

“Indore is on the run-way of development and is ready to take off and now, nobody can stop it,” said Vijayvargia.

Parliamentarian Sumitra Mahajan said that Indore was a mini Mumbai only for namesake before but now it has truly earned the label.

Indore: If the plans of the Indore Development Authority (IDA) is approved by the concerned authorities, the city will soon have a sports complex having international standard facilities.

The IDA has plans of developing a mega sports complex with seating capacity of 50 to 75 thousand spectators.

According to sources, the IDA has plans to come with the sports complex on 100 acre land and it has already acquired plots in Bangrada and scheme-151, 169-B and 170.

The main stadium of the complex will be constructed in such a way that it will play a multi-dimensional role providing space for sports like cricket, hockey, football. A separate stadium of athletes will also come up at the mega sports complex.

The IDA will be working on the project in accordance with the international standards.

Talking to Bhaskar News, IDA’s assistant architectural planner Vijay Marathe said that apart from a table tennis arena, a lawn tennis court will also be constructed in the sports complex.

“According to the standard that we have set, the sports complex will envelope a multi-purpose hotel, conference center, theatre, retail center, office spaces and visitors center,” Marathe said.

He added that that the IDA is also planning to construct a sports museum in the state-of-the-art sports complex.

Indore: International tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi’s company, Globosport, has shown interest in establishing a sports complex in Indore.

The company has also been invited for the investors’ conference to be organised by the Indore Development Authority on June 24-25.

The event is being organised to initiate some big projects in the city on the lines of public-private partnership.

Besides working in Australia, Bhupathi’s company has also worked in Kolkata, Chennai and Ranchi National Games on earlier occasions.

In addition to these, Globosport had also played an active role in developing the infrastructure for the national games in Pune.

Apart from furnishing these details about Globosport, IDA’s assistant planner Vijay Marathe said that over 100 national and international companies from the infrastructure sector had been invited for the conference.

He further said that the response of almost all the companies had been positive.

Some of the big companies slated to attend the conference are US-based Trans Stadia, Reliance Infrastructure, Tata Realty, L&T and GMR.

The conference will be organised at Hotel Fortune Landmark.

Shanghai, Paris...Next stop Indore for trams?

Indore: The city may soon join an elite group of cities across the world—Shanghai, Paris and Venice to name a few—with a tramway public transport system.

The city is all set for the new system— comprising trams moving on rubber tyre axles instead of wheels of steel— with a French firm willing to execute the project.



The firm, Lohr Industries, will provide technical support to Tata Realty and Infrastructure Ltd (TRIL) for construction of the much-awaited tramway system in Indore.

A team from Lohr team visited the city on Thursday to study the project and prepare a feasibility report.

"We expect to get the report by next month," Indore Development Authority (IDA) CEO Chandramouli Shukla told DNA.

TRIL managing director and CEO Sanjay Ubale had expressed interest in the project and had sent an offer letter to the IDA last month.

"TRIL required technical support for the project and had roped in TransLohr. The latter has unparalleled expertise," Shukla added.

Translohr trams, with two driver cabins on both ends to assist reversibility, have been chosen as the means of public transport in Clermont-Ferrand (France), Shanghai (China), Venice (Italy), North Paris and a host of other cities.Internationally, the Translohr trams have been acclaimed as a cost-effective, safe and noise-free means of travel.

The IDA has given the French company the contract of making a blueprint of the tram project — the 19-km tram line would extend from airport to the Indore bypass via the Super Corridor and MR-10. Three hundred people could travel in a tram at a time.

TRIL wants to build the tramline on a PPP (Public Private Partnership) or a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model and it will be given two months for a techno feasibility of the project so that it can come up with a better and more concrete proposal.

After TCS, Infosys has designs on Indore

Indore: After Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), IT bellwether Infosys might soon start its operations in Indore.



The Bangalore-based Indian multi-national has shown its intent to start 'a mega project' in the city after the word spread about the state government's sops to TCS and its eagerness in paving way for the Rs 1000 crore project proposed by the IT company.

A team of Infosys officials visited the city in the first week of September and took stock of the land available for its proposed project. They studied the facilities the government plans to provide at the Crystal IT Park and the Super Corridor.

Industries minister Kailash Vijayvergiya told DNA, "Infosys has shown its interest in coming to Indore and representatives of the company have also visited the city."
"The discussion is at the preliminary stage. Nothing could be said regarding it at this juncture, but Infosys did carry out a preliminary survey, said a senior district officer.
Infosys is yet to reveal its plans for Indore and communicate with the state's information technology department.
Principal Secretary Information and Technology, Deepak Khandekar told DNA, "I am yet to receive any intimation from Infosys about its plans. I am not aware of the company officials visiting the city."
The software major has been eyeing tier-II cities for its expansion even as the global economy shows signs of depression.
A few weeks ago, Infosys executive co-chairman S Gopalakrishnan had announced the comapny's plans to go to Tier-II cities .

Audi plans to expand dealership network to smaller cities and towns

Germany based leading luxury car maker Audi is now aggressively planning to expand its operations in the Indian auto market, especially in smaller cities and towns. The company is eyeing to capitalize on the high growth potential in smaller cities, so that it can boost its market share and become the second largest luxury car maker in the country.

The company has recently launched a new dealership in Ludhiana, which will be followed by a dealership in Lucknow, Surat, Coimbatore, and Indore soon. The company plans to roll-out cars from these upcoming dealerships by next year. The firm will take the total number of its dealerships to 25 by the end of next year.

It is to be mentioned here that Audi India plans to become the largest luxury car maker in the Indian auto market by year 2015. The expansion of dealership network has been done to provide a strong distribution network to its upcoming volume segment offerings like Q3 SUV and smaller sedan A3.

Speaking to reporters in the National Capital, Audi India head Michael Perschke said, "There have been some good years, and we are planning to get right products to generate volumes and meet customer expectations.” He added, "While other players in the Indian market are reviewing their targets downward, we are confident that we will exceed our target of 5,000 units this year."

The firm and its dealer partners aim to increase their manpower by 600 people by the end of next year. So far, the firm has invested over 30 million euros in its India operations.
