This one indeed is a great example.

I think so. Or maybe, a slightly more contrasting light gray on all the projecting surfaces, including the flat roof cornice.

BTW, I'm wondering if this even belongs in the Commieblock forum. This looks like classic 1920s and 1930s European modernism, which predates communism.

Posting one project at a time makes discussion possible.
Posting many at a time makes it difficult or impossible.

General remark:
Many (most?) of these projects are 40, 50, or even 60 years old, and many are located in severe climates. Their exteriors have deteriorated with time. In many of these cases, simply repairing the exterior surfaces and painting them white would create a huge improvement.

Some of the more complicated color schemes here are questionable.
And some may be impractical. When a deep red paint job is new, it can look spectacular, but that color is very prone to fading, and may not look so good after a decade or two.

Nah, these are from the late 70s, or 80s. Typical Ceausescu style.
Ceausist building:

Ceausist building:
Not bad. Not particularly creative, but very respectable urbanistically.
What kind of people lived in that building -- mid-to-high level government and party officials?

I love orange and grey colour schemes.

That's too bad.
Even so, the randomly scattered a.c. units and satellite dishes add a certain aleatory esthetic.

Just an idea of how a block could be restored...

Looks like they destroy the old building and made a new one.

A bit sad for me, because I find really interesting how they manage to reactualize the buildings using what is in the place. Here it's more like making a whole new concept and hiding (totally) the old architecture. But well, it isn't that much important, new one looks good in my opinion.

There are other examples that preserve the original architecture very well, like the British apartment towers above, which retain their 60s/early 70s look.

This old Rīga Radio Factory building was renewed as shopping center and offices and now looks like this

Brown was probably not the best color to choose but over here we don't like the bright colors either

A perfect restoration: Returned to its exact original look.
