Macedonia was newer part of the Soviet Union, although it was part of socialist Yugoslavia, so i don't khow whether this is the right thread for the pics i've posted.

Sorry if i made a mistake.

'Commieblocks' is the nickname given to socialist housing blocks, Soviet built or not.

You're kidding, right?

Тhese commieblocks were not only renovated but also upgraded with several floors. I think they look now much better than before.

Breamblokken, Antwerp

These commies have never been in disrepair and still look the same as when build. Still they are not unpleasent to the eye.

Yea it's quite obvious they were upgraded since the new part is visibly wider but even if it was complitely new building this architecture is below mediocre and outdated by 10 years at least.

There's a wall of blank images on the last page, is there a way to take them off?

Not a commieblock, but a communist-built brutalist building (Tbilisi Roads Ministry Building) used to be abandoned and run-down but recently it was repaired and renamed Bank of Georgia Headquarters.

Hahahah poor Estonians, we've already discussed this issue when everyone puked over photo of some house in Tallinn suburbs in Estonian forum when I explained that here almost every house looks like that

Regarding this building, believe it or not, that is the dominant architectural style in the Balkans I will PM you a link with photos from one Belgrade suburb built exclusively in that style if you want.

They are build afther the famous example of Le Corbusier. Le Corbusier has influenced commie blocks all across Europe. The first of his 'Unité d'Habitation' was build in 1947. Le Corbusier is the father of the modern commieblock and commieblock districts. He had views on cities like no other.

His plans for cities looked like this: Mind you these drawings date back to 1925!

Interesting architecture. I like the way how this building is renovated. Reminds me of the Hydrometeorological Institute in Skopje.
