just for the record, i do live in a rural area in a house and have no idea who my neighbors are although gardens share borders. so not knowing their neighbors is not only a common thing for highrise living people

like most responses here, aside from greeting each other and talk about the weather, there is not much interaction between me and my neighbours.

I never interacted much with my neighbors beyond the customary hello when I lived in rental buildings. Now that I live in a condo building, I interact with my neighbors a lot. I am good friends with a few couples but know a lot of faces.

I have a vacation home is a very remote rural community in the southwest. I dont believe I even have a key to that place. Even when I am gone I leave the doors unlocked so my neighbors can get in if they need a cup of sugar or borrow my chainsaw.

Borrow your chainsaw? The visuals that brings to mind.

Nothing wrong with a good cup of coffee with plenty of sugar before carving up some neighbors....

I live in a very calm suburb with lots of high-value properties with high perimeter walls topped with electric fencing and all of that. People don't interact with each other which is unusual elsewhere here in Moz.
