What do you dislike about sky living?

Anything you're not happy with in general, or for your building specifically?

I could imagine I would feel disconnected with the rest of the city. Like living in a cocoon.

Definitely the biggest issue is the noise that can come from other apartments. Also the lack of hygiene in any apartment such as having a cat lady as a neighbor can be a huge issue for the whole building that takes some time to solve. Also maintenance of common areas in older buildings comes down to resident structure so you can have a lot of buildings with shabby interiors just because residents are unable to agree upon or uninterested to organize the proper maintenance.

Although I can't say I am exposed to any of this, it would be a huge concern when buying a new apartment. To the extent that I would probably ask to rent the place for one month before making the decision.

I'm onlyon the sixth floor, so I don't know of this counts... My neighbors sometimes cook food that gives off disgusting odor.

For me it's the lack of intimacy and free space.

As I was raised in the suburbs, I could go out to my garden every minute, without even caring of what I wear. It's all almost impossible if you live in a city. You can't just go out: you need to wear something decent, you need to lock the door and have a key with you at all times, and even if you've done this, there is always that irritating kid in the park or that judgmental lady in public garden. Ughr.

Something I'll definitely LIKE as a weather enthousiast is the view in extreme weather. Can't wait for the first storm when living 22 floors high.
